My favorite pink. What is yours?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I just thought since we were talking favorites, we might as well move into pinks too. This is Butterfly.

I haven't had Butterfly bloom yet... but I can't wait!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You will love it. I'm so anxious to get my brugs outside and see some buds start to appear. After our cold day today, I wonder if spring will ever get here.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie . . Butterfly certainly is beautiful and I got a cutting late las summer and I have not seen it bloom yet. My favorite that I have personally seen bloom is Equador Pink. When I see Butterfly bloom, I will probably have a different opinion.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

R - Line from Mme Blin, Favorites Delight and her new crossings ( Rubirosa and..) from Monika, Amber Rose from Eric ( sometimes it is pink..)
Ecuador Pink and darkpink: Rothkirch.

Soon,( may be ) we will have much more good pinks: Today I visited my friend HJ Gommer in the Netherlands. He has much Charlston x L´Amour seedlings in his GH. May be some new pink doubles..

Was a long trip, sleepy now

So far Butterfly is my favorite. My second favorite is Ecuador Pink.

Hmmm... do we prefer butterfly over Pink Beauty??

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like PB too. This one just shows up well because of the way the blooms nod. My PB or Rosamond, which ever it is, had more hanging blooms, even tho there were tons of them on the plant. Each brug has its fine points. Both are great brugs. I've just thought about Butterfly and the fact that it doesn't get nearly as big and makes a better container specimen.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Butterfly #1
Equador #2
Isabella #3

It is hard for me to choose a pink I like the ones I have for different reasons. Defiantly want to add Butterfly it has such a nice form. Anyone with Rosabelle find it to be a little on the fussy side?, been trying to convince mine to grow let alone bloom for quite some time now.

Defiantly, John? A Freudian slip??

lol... no pun intended : )

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I haven't seen my favorite yet..........LOL! Love all the pictures here.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow, you get better color from your EP than I do. Mine is a bit more washed out. Do you grow yours in partial shade in the summer? I had mine in full sun and it didn't do well at all. Yours looks great.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It was in full sun. It was on the side of the Alley that got the afternoon sun. I had another partially shaded by a Lilac bush and it bloomed the same. When I put them in the GH last fall they had a flush of real light flowers.

If I ever get a pink to live and bloom that will be my favorite. But seriously--I saw pictures of Cherokee--that Hibiscus(Gloria) has. It radiated this beautiful blush that gave me the warm tingles. (Go ahead Kell--ask about the warm tingles) Gloria did you put it in the brug database?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

No, but I am starting some cuttings, I love it, can't wait to see if bloom is bigger and better this summer!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

# 1 Rosalie, #2 Rubirosa, #3 Coral Pink

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

#1 Butterfly #2 Cherie Amour #3 Kyle's Pink

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I love Rubirosa. Maybe some day I can say it is my favorite brug here at home. There are so many nice ones anymore that it is getting really hard to pick a favorite.

Terry, maybe we just have to much of an extended type heat. It seems to arrive here and stays for a long time. I think I'll grow EP in morning sun only this year and see what happens. I could never get any pollen from her last year. This year I'll get it early and hope it will dry fluffy.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Gorgeous Shirley! With all the help from some of you, I hope to see some pinks here this year! :) How warm do the nights have to stay before it is safe to put them out? We are supposed to have a pretty long run of 40s. There IS hope, spring might be on the way. LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Michele, I like for the ground to be warm if I'm putting them there. If your temps are going to be good and you are growing them in pots, you could put them out and if it turns bad, stick them in the garage or someplace under cover. Remember to harden them off like you do other plants. I've made the mistake of sticking them out in the sun and they bleach out really quickly. Good luck with your brugs and if you want more this fall, send me mail.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Shirley, you have been FAR too kind and generous already!! I truly appreciate it too. :) All of mine are in pots (seedlings in plastic cups) and I considered putting them on the front porch (no direct sun-or can be easily shaded) until they are ready to go in the ground. Is 40 at night still too cool? We are 60-70 most days now.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If you are sure you won't have any frost now, I'd go ahead and take them out. I'm sure you could run them back in if you had to. Hope you have a great brug summer.

All of them!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Now your talkin' Gloria!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks Shirley! I just hope they are as beautiful as this one. :)

Dripping Springs, TX

Glory I hope you never have to pick out paint and fabric colors for your house--You'll never be able to decide.LOL

Hi everyone...Sorry I haven't been around lately..I've been real busy! I passed my MOUS Exam! :o)))

As usual, my favourites are the ones I want but don't have...So for my favourite pink (Geez, there's so many) I'd have to say it's any of these from Anne Kirchner-Abel!

Does 'Super Spot' count? It's very red, isn't it?

Best wishes always,

Bruno

Gosh, they are all sooo pretty, I had a start sent to me, but I am sorry to say I think I killed it!!!

I am reading up on this forum and trying to learn as much as I can before I beg for another cutting LOL

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Stunning Bruno! Now I have to add to my MHL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

All 3 are to die for! Is she in Germany or France? Can you order from her Bruno without the paperwork like we need here in the US? The last one looks like crepe paper.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Hiya Kell...Yeah...I can order no problem, I think there's a waiting list for these guys though...which is not supriseing considering how beautiful they are. I love the first one, 'Pink Vista Bella'. The flowers are big versicolor type blooms and it drops it's skirt so gracefully.(Not Stuffed). And Although the photo is taken in full sun which usually has a warming effect on the colours of blooms in photos, I think the colour of 'Super Spot' is truely remarkable!

Best wishes,

Bruno

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Super Spot is beautiful! So are the two pinks. Thanks for sharing.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well hurry up Bruno and get in line! I hear lots of Davers are on that list.......LOL! And the prices all look so reasonable.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Kell...I read your message earlier and said to myself " That's it...I'm going to take that leap and make an order" and that's exactly what I did..LOL!

Thanks for your encouragment Kell...i'm all excited now!

Best wishes always,

Bruno

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Good for you Bruno! Can't wait for your pictures! Did you get an idea when you might get these?

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Emmm..no..but i'll go and check now! I have to pay Cash-On-Delivery and i'm hopeing I don't get a big shock when the postman tells me the price..LOL

All the best,

Bruno
