Hello all, short and sweet here, Mom lost her partner of 11 years in Nov. She has been living with me and we have just found her an apt. of her own. I wonder if anyone could send her a few seeds for the new apt? Kindof like a welcome to your new place kind of thing. She likes petunias, morning glories, impatiens, zinnias, etc. or anything she could grow in pots. I thank you for considering this.

Hi,
I would love to send your mom some seeds. I will send them out today. I hope she likes them.
I have been off line lately with computer proplems. again. Does she want or have room for any vegies?
I have lots of seeds to share, also I am waiting for more that I ordered. I have ordered lots of heirloom tomatoes and will, I am sure, have some to share. I don't mind sharing with anyone. Anyone other than OhioBreezy, please let me know how you want to trade or SASE. Let me know. Jul
Laurrie, I don't have many but I would be happy to send your Mom some seeds.
Thank you everyone, I know Mom will get such a surprise, I have told her nothing of this :)
There is at this apt. complex a community garden area, so a few veggies would be nice too, never thought about that, Mom just loves tomatoes!!!
You are all so kind, I cannot wait for her to call me telling me all about this "stuff" she is going to get. This I think will keep her busy for awhile while adjusting to the new place. You are all special and I do truly appreciate you sending this to her. I love her dearly and I will miss her under my roof, but understand she needs her own space too.
Thanks again everyone :) Laurrie
Does your Mom like flowers? I will check in the morning to see what and how many I can spare.
A gardening friend, Maxine
I'd be happy to put together a few little surprises as well!
Kathy
My Mom loves flowers, that is where I got my love of gardening I am sure LOL.
Her and I years ago, used to dig up flowers at the old abandoned homes in the country here where we live. it was such fun, those homes are long gone and dozed, along with anything that used to be there growing, made way for new homesites!!
My Mom will just be tickled to get some things in her mailbox instead of me for once I am sure.
Thank you all so much Laurrie
I sent it today....it will take little while to arrived..
OhioBreezy,
Sent flowers yesterday, I will put some tomato seeds in the mail for her this weekend. I am glad there is a community garden where she can meet new friends. I put OhioBreezy on the package, I worried she may not want to open the mail since she did not know who sent it. Jul
Thank you everyone for your kindness!! We went shopping this morning for a couch/living room set for her. She even picked up some new towels. I think she is getting sooo excited.
Are you all sure I cannot send you something in return??
If there is something you have been looking for or something you really really like, please drop me an e-mail and ask, I might just have it OK?
Thanks again - will have to post some pics when she starts getting packages!!!!

Here is a pic of Mom with George
Your mom has such a youthful and sweet face. No wonder you cherish her. I am not sending seeds because I have mostly wildflowers here, but will be watching to see if she needs anything I have.
I will be getting Mom probably wednesday to check her po box, have not still said anything, keeping a secret like this is hard!!!!
Yes my Mom was widowed after 13 years of marriage (1982), I was 13 and the oldest when my Dad died in a car accident. sister was 12 and brother 10, so Mom had it rought. She was single until 1991-1992 can't remember when they first got together, but I met my husband in 1992 so I think it was '91 because George was already a part of our family then. She had many good years with George, but when he passed away in Nov. Mom is only 53, will be 54 on April 29th, she is still sooo young and already has lost 2 of her mates, it is soo hard for me to watch her go thru this all over again, I know when I was 13 and it was my Dad she lost, we all had it rough, but now George passing is just as hard, because that was the only Grandfather my children knew, so I had to feel terrible for them as well. He was the only "father-in-law" to my husband as well as my sister and brothers spouses!! So he was a bigger part of all of our lives that we take for granted until something like this happens and we realize just how dear he really was to the "whole family" not just to Mom. He is sadly missed and always will be.
Mom and this apt. is a fresh start, she wants to walk and lose weight, I know she isn't looking for another partner right now, but perhaps the time will come, like I said she is young still!!! We will keep her occupied and help her all we can! Gardening is a love you don't forget and she got me started so this is a gift I can (with your help) give back to her.
Thanks everyone! I truly appreciate your kindness to Mom.

I'm sending out an envelope of goodies on Monday. What a delight to get to do this for someone else. :)
Thank your mom for the nice note. I hope she got all the seeds she needs, if there is anything she is still wanting and I have it, I will send it to her. Let me know.
Thank you all, I know she is excited to be getting the seeds planted in her new little potts!! She was excited over a certain morning glory, and I would like to know if anyone can suggest how to grow in pot for on a very small patio/stoop, it is only 3 feet by maybe 8 feet long. not much area here and we thought morning glories she received would look so nice there to brighten up the dark brick wall.
Thanks again to you all = you were wonderful to her and I am thankful there are such nice people out there willing to help put a smile on some strangers face!!!
Laurrie
