'February Sunrise'

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Here's a tulip I'm growing for the first time
Despite the name it has only just opened today for the first time, though I admit I've had it in a shady spot, perhaps it would have been earlier in the sun

What a cheerful little sweety :)

Does anyone know the lineage of this plant?
It looks closest to T urumiensis of the species tulips to me.
Any thoughts?

What a gorgeous little thing!

Is this one of the species tulips?

Definitely..., you think.

About as commited as a politician's press hack.

No question about it..., species..., I'm nearly convinced..., almost.

Didn't find anything on the site to match and don't have any books or catalogues with it in. Don't think Paul Christian's site seems as good as before it was altered - but perhaps that's just my jaundiced view as there are no photos of 'my' tulip. I came across it at a local garden centre, liked the sound of it and bought it.
Can't find it on Google either :(

Seems almost a urumiemsis/clusiana cross from the photos I can find

Oh well, I love all the species tulips anyway
