those are his babies Rose, not sure which batch or if anything we know is from that bed.
Ok that was his look so healthy brugs!
Hi Eric! Is that the old brug bed or the new brug bed?
Nice to meet you.
Hi Eric, great brugs you have.
Hi Eric,
So nice to see who I've been talking to, off and on, for the last couple of years. Great looking brugs growing there beside you. Hope you are doing well and that you have become adjusted to Texas VS. Florida. Hope to see you here soon.
Shirley
HI Eric,
WOW! Lots of healthy Brugs!
Brugmania, i am going to bump the first brugman thread i ever read. oh my, it blew my mind.
Brugman, what BEAUTIFUL brugs you have!!!!! never did get that pic in uniform....lol...
I know arlene, I used to sit here and scratch my head, not understanding most of it, but I sure miss his ramblings. There is much to be learned in his old threads.
John, we call Eric Brugman, his user name is Brugmansia.
nah!!! He went back in the service and doesn't get as much time here as he used to or you would know him already:)
He's got many fine hybrids under his belt.
ERIC!! So nice to finally see the face behind all those great brugs! ... and what a healthy row of plants. They look like they're spaced quite closely together. See that Kell?? Just think how many seedlings you can cram into your little garden.
Are those daylilies behind him? And I bet they're his own hybrids! Oh my ... could those be poppies mixed in there too? Sure gives me spring fever! BAD!!!!!
he always said he planted them like corn, he weren't kidding!!!
That is how I want the driveway to look!
Great job and great to meet you Eric!
Hello Eric glad to meet you. Great picture and very healthy looking brug bed. Best of luck to you and your family.
We are very fortunate at DG to have the best there are here with us. Monika, Kyle, Ludger and Eric among many others are blessing us every day.
Eric, So glad to see you again. This time your handsome face isn't hidden.Sure do miss your ramblings.Gosh, those are healthy looking Brugs.
Great to see Eric in brug heaven there! Looks like he has a bit of the devil in that smile! LOL
Hallo Eric, nice to see the person behind the name. I hope, you didnt run over the plants behind your back with the lawn mower LOL!
Monika,
Thanks, but those brugs were a bit too big to run over with a lawnmower after they blooms so I had to jerk them up by the roots and all after they bloomer or if they didn't bloom in a years time I just pulled them and tossed them into the scrap pile. I most likely culled the best colored ones, but I did get the fastest growers and the earliest bloomers out of the bunch.
Brugmania,
Seems like just yesterday I was driving down through Ft.Myerrs. I'm very glad to see some of my hybrids have made it down that far south, but I have to agree with you that Kyles hybrids are among the best here in the USA. Kyle's hybrids are what got me interested in hybridizing Brugmansia. Of course I still think the very best are Monika's and hopefully with a bit of patience will be flooded with her hybrids in the states.
Arlene,
I know I promised pictures of myself in uniform, problem with that is they are in storage right now. I will get at least one picture out to you asap though. I promise.
Most of the rest of you guys, well I've known you from Daves for so long that it feels as if I've known you all too and that goes for you too Tig. Sometimes I'm a bit slow, but hopefully not too slow to know who my real friends and fellow Brug enthusiasts are here. I can't wait to see what you guys produce over the next few years as I am sure with this many people setting seeds and growing them out in rows that were bound to have at least a few winners amongst us.
Hi Eric, great picture of you and your brugs! I must agree, it is nice to put a face to the person. And we all must see you in your uniform...be sure to post it here!
Eric-- it's great to see that brugs grow like a patch of tobacco in TX. The next time you need help pulling a bunch up let me know..psst--yes everyone I'll wear large overalls so I can stuff them full of brugs.
OK,I have read Monika's book many times now and I GOTTA GET MY FIRST BRUG! Where in the world is FSH Texas? Do they really grow here? Been looking around.Whats the best to try first? Well Eric wherever FSH is,Heres a big ole WELCOME To Texas!
Fort Sam Houston
Weedlady,
You can go to the River Walk in downtown San Antonio and see Brugs blooming all year. For that matter, the San Antonio Botanical Garden off of Funston Rd has a slew of Brugmansia as well. I'm patiently waiting for a few of them at the gardens to bloom as they were just budding the last time I was there.
*lol* Well, hello Eric! :) Its so nice finally to meet you (almost) in person :)
I must admit that when I first saw the picture you reminded me a lot of my childhood friend Niels big brother, that was a lot older than me. Back in the late sixties and in the start of the seventies, when we kids used to ride mini-bicycles, Nielses brother drove a 1.100 ccm BMV motorbike *lol*
That is wonderful rows of Brugs you have got there. Is it from Texas? I could not have planted out my tobacco`s any better than this. Its wonderful to see how it works. The Brugs actually like this way of planting :)
Welcome back, Tonny!
