Now that's a beauty, Baa! I just love those primula. I hope most of mine made it through this weird winter we've had. I've grown most of mine from seed, and of course, these special ones don't come that way. Ah, well.

Barnhaven sell seed from their doubles, they say they come true (on average) 25% of the time. Of course, you're right the named forms won't but they are quite available here and in the US. These Victorian forms are becoming popular again and they are much hardier and longer lived than the modern types.
Plants of Distinction also have seeds of double Prims although they look larger and more blowsy than the older style forms.
Thanks, Baa. I'll have to check on seeds... 25% is OK, since the singles are fine too. This seems to be a good climate for most primula. Just got some P. veris, red strain seed, but I think it needs a good chill before planting.
Most Prim seeds are better sown fresh than chilled so it may be worth sowing a couple now. I learned that through trying to sow P. veris 5 times from 4 different suppliers with no success. I ended up buying 2 plants and within 1 year they had multiplied 10x and continue to do so!

Thanks for the info, Baa. I'll do that.
Pleasure WZ, I just don't want others to have to go through the expense I did LOL
These seeds were received in a trade, so I don't have a big investment. The easiest prims I've ever started from seed are the florindaes. I have tons of them in the ground from last year, and a tray full under lights this spring, so if all of them make it, all of Seward will smell like nutmeg late next summer! I'd really love to find the red strain of the florindaes!
I had a red strain florindae but it didn't survive our winter for some reason. Did I send you a couple of Buff form?
No, I don't think so, Baa. Mine are most definitely a bright yellow... buff would be unusual. Is it impressive?
