At a thrift store, I found this absolutely wonderful BIG claw footed brass container. It is too late to go outside take a photo - but I can post that later if anyone is interested. This container is large enough to make one of those container water gardens - no fish, just some plants - sitting on the deck.
Anyway - my question - is there any problem with chemicals leaching from the metal into the water?
It obviously has had plants in it before - it is very discolored inside, but maybe it was only used as a receptacle for an ugly black plastic pot.
Thanks for any help - AND any suggestions as to the type of plant(s) that would do well in this kind of situation would be greatly appreciated.
