ethernet card problem

a freak lightning strike the other night took out my ethernet card. We had another one in the old computer. We installed it and worked fine for over 24 hours. Now whenever I open Pegasus it's causing the computer to crash. I uninstalled the drivers for it, disabled it, nothing works. I get a blue screen that says 'driver irql not less or equal'. any one have a clue?????
