My sang seed pod fell off. I think I must of brushed against it and I found it on the floor this morning. I know it hasn't been on there that long but I did open it and it has seeds in it. They were farther along than I thought they would be. Do you think they were far enough along and what do I do now. I am not sure but I am thinking that they bloomed in Jan. or around christmas. Sang seed pod
Take the chance and plant them!! I had some germinate from very immature seeds... but of course they weren't sangs. It took a long time for them to come up - like 10 weeks ... so be patient.
Hi Lindakay, They look far enough along to stand a good chance! In future if a pod drops prematurely, don't open it till the pod begins to get fairly dry and shrivel as this will increase your chances of seed viability!
Best wishes,
Bruno
Thanks for the help. I'll get them in some soil right away. I only opened one section of the pod . Would it be better to leave the rest of the pod alone for a while and let it turn yellow? Linda
Linda, if you want to give them a try,sow now. The pod is open and the seeds will shrink and become dry.
Please keep us informed. It would be very unnormal if something will sprout. Sang pods need 7-9 months for riping.
This one is about 3 months old.
My best wishes are with you and these seeds, smile.

go for it............. how exciting! Good luck!
I'm excited for you .I'm dying to get a pod on mine!
OK guys. I sowed them in peat so they won't rot, I hope. If one comes up you will be the first to know. If not I'll just try polinating another one. I am a very patiant person. I save seeds from cyclamen, plant them and wait patiantly for them to bloom in about a year or year and a half. Linda
Good luck LindaKay ~ you never know, you might just get lucky!
