Where was this taken? I just love big specimens like this. In another month it will be solid pink!

The picture was taken in my yard (Los Angeles area, California) last summer. I don't know how old the plant is. It was huge like this when we moved here six years ago.

Well, you are so lucky Kelli, I am sure it puts on an incredible show for you for months!

It blooms pretty much all year. It has bloomed all winter this year, as we have not had a freeze.

Hi Kelli,
Do you think a plant like that would survive in Indiana? I would sure love to try to grow one or maybe a similar plant like it.

It would survive if you can take it indoors in the winter. They can't take cold below about 28F.

This is a great looking plant. I saw one in Corpus Christi,Texas that could be 20 or so years old because it covers an entire telephone post and runs along the wires for some 20 feet to each side of the pole and then some!!! time i'm down there I will take some pics.

It will do great in a pot--actually, they seem to like being contained. When you take it inside, don't put it in the garage or other dark place. They don't go dormant, and will die w/o light. Just put it near a window where it will continue to get lots of light and it will be happy until spring when it can enjoy the outdoors again.

Glad mine doesn't have to go inside--it's about 10' across. Unfortunately it doesn't bloom much because it gets too much shade--poor planning. But I live in Corpus Christi, and from my front yard I can see the neighbors'. Just about everyone has one here.
