The weather is starting to turn, and we had 60 degrees the past few days. I'm tellin ya....it felt .....almost tropical! LOL. The averages have been 56/46. Do you think it's too soon to put the Brugs out. They are pushing against the window! This is my first time growing them. I plan on hardening them off. Liz, you mentioned earlier that you put yours out in Mid March....have you put yours out yet? Can you tell I'm just a little nervous? I'm putting a bunch of other seedlings out to be hardenend off today.
Transplanting outside
All of mine (except the sangs) are still indoors. The temps are getting to be about right but we've had a lot of big wind and now we are thinking about building an ark. You too?
Those are too small to go out yet. I'm watching the weather daily. This time of year I couldn't care less what the high temps are, I only notice the lows.
Thanks Liz. Yes, we have quite a bit of wind and rain daily for the past week. The garden's can't take any more water!
My two brugs that I overwintered are still not robustly leafing out. They are in a minimum 38 degree greenhouse. I agree, the daytime highs are not important. The lows are and we are still sure to get some cold nights. I think my last frost date is about mid to late April. In Seattle I would guess that your last frost date is about two weeks ahead of me. It's just too cold.

Yes, I agree I think too early to put your brugs outside even tho you do live west of the mountains. I know i can't put mine outside until May, hope they don't get too tall. I have an HID light in the greenhouse and it really helps to keep them from getting too spindly. Donna
I live on the water, so I'm at sea level. My last frost date has passed. Right now, what I worry about is rain. Rutholive, I have to look at the map, you must be inland or in the mountains. You are a zone 5a?
That is like here Liz. The frost is long gone but the weather has turned nasty again with wind and rain.
Yes, Liz, I'm inland in the eastern foothills of the Cascades. My youngest son lives in Sumner, and when i was talking to him a couple of days ago he couldn't believe we hadn't been getting any rain. The mountains just stop it from coming on over. Quite cloudy this evening and i did see part of a rainbow. Donna
Ah, that explains it. All we need here is the weather to have a consistent 45f nightime lows then they are good to go outside. The days are fine, but the nights are still wavering just above and below the magic 45F.
Same here, Liz. Lows teetering around the 45 mark. Some nights it dips a little below.
