If he thought this was a girl, then he obviously is suffering from "little man's syndrome". He was a real cutie, and guarded the feeder for about three weeks.

I had noticed this little guy, particularly in the mornings. So, I gathered coffee and camera - - and sat about 4 feet away from the plant stake for several mornings. Of course, I have about 15 blurry pictures and 3 good shots!
