I am searching through pictures to escape the winter depression. This I found:
The old alley until 1993
review
`.... plants added.
Since then, the lawn has been reduced to the size of two 'pieces of bread', a new alley was added. It has now the shape of a horse shoe. I am still planning to make it look more attractive.
Sorry, had some misspellings in it

stunning. monika, what are the potted plants on the left in the very last picture? what is you favorite underplanting and how close do you plant them to the brugs?
It is stunning . . thanks for sharing with us.
Bonnie, the small potted were the plants for the underplanting that year. At the moment, its Spirea Anthony Waterer and Ceoropsis. The latter, I dont know, if they have survived. I needed too many (over 400) annuals for the flower beds underneath the Trees. It became too expensive with € 1 - 1.50 each.
I sure understand that!!!! I've got 5 trays of coleus started, but that still won't be enough. Fortunately I have white verbena that spreads easily and looks nice under them.
Monika, Thank you for sharing these great pictures!!!I love seeing your Mom with your Brugs, she looks so happy!
We agree on the grass,I don't have much grass,I can mow my grass in 10 minutes, front and back.
Every time I start my rotor tiller, I have less grass and more garden.

Just lovely and your mother looks so happy. I love to see these garden progression photos. Thanks for the winter pick me up!
MOnika, I love seeing your brug alleys, and a treat to meet your dear mother.
Thanks, Monika.
Progression pix are neat to see (o:
Hi Monika's Mom! Very nice to 'meet' today (o:
Alice Harris
Wow, Monika, what a gorgeous assortment of photos and plants IN the photos. And here I am, thinking of how I can make a display on a puny 6x18 cement slab in front of my house............. Oh, well, I will do the best I can with what I have. And a lovely lawn conducive to brug alleys unfortunately isn't one of them. *sigh* Have alot of clay and not nice soils, too many outbuildings, cruddy trees and their snakelike roots all over creation. Chinese elms.......need I say more? Monika, you are an inspiration to me, thanks. :>)
Monika, great pictures! Such hard work for such a short time each year. Did you inherit your green thumb from your Mom? Was she a gardener like you and your sister are?
Moinka,
It is all so beautiful.
Great pictures Monika. I'll bet your mom is looking down over your place in the summer and saying to all the other angels "Look at that place!! That is my daughter's and I'm so proud of her". Your place always amazes me. I'll always be a "sticker gardener". Stick it here or stick it there.....something I'll never be able to change. Your pictures always give me hope though. When I win the lottery and can hire a gardener!!
LOL Brugie........me too! Even if I did not have a full time job, I would be too old now to get my yard in total shape. bring on that winning lottery!
kell it is inherited from my dad. When I was twelve, he taught me the complete care of roses. Since that time, I cannot stand roses! Mom had to work hard all her life, she had to care for a large veggie garden too, but she had many house plants.
Shirley, she is always present as she had been here every year for months. She loved the Brugmansias and their fragrance.
Monika thanks for sharing these pictures with us. It is very interesting to see the progression stages that you went through. Lovely picture of your Mom I also feel that she will always be near you.
Monika you picture give me hope that it will be green again!
And it was nice to see your Mom,and I know she's still smiling at you.......
Monika you are gifted where your gardens are concerned. I know that your mom was a great support to you when she was alive. The happiness shows in her face. I know you must cherish that picture as well as the ones with your sister and your friends.
We have more snow falling at the present and by nightfall the temperatures will dip again to below zero. This year's winter never seeems to end. Thank goodness we can overwinter our plants, start new sseedlings and prepare for when the first buds appear outdoors in the Spring.
Monika, I did not know this picture from your Mom, I like it very well.Thank you for sharing.
Once again Monika! You are the photo for the day!
What a beautiful transformation!
What lovely pictures,Monika. Thanks for sharing them, and for posting the picture of your mom!! I am sure she is still a great inspiration to you.
I envy your two pieces of bread for grass, lol.I still have about 2 Are left, and am trying to phase it out bit by bit,but my boys would go mad if they knew my plans for their football field :)!
