Don't anyone tell Bobbie. She thinks I have been down in the basement cleaning.
My basement
We won't tell on ya Jim. ;) Looks like you've been a busy man down in that basement. Lookin good.
Tanks Snow, some of your babies are in the group. My mantis tiller will be here tomorrow and I plan on this weekend some of them going in the ground.
The big one in front never died back and I didn't cut it back and it looks like it has buds forming. The leaves have the uneven sides indicating that it is buds. The only thing is they might be from last years buds.LOL
I hope they give you lots of flowers this summer. You'll have to let us know how the Mantis works. Been trying to talk DH into buying one but he said it would'nt last in our rock pile.
Very familiar pictures. I hope you don't have anymore frosts and that your babies will thrive. We will be waiting nearly two months to get ours out in Iowa.
I have an idea. All you Northern growers come on down and spend the next two months here helping me put these out. Callaway Gardens is about 20 miles or so from here and it is really beautiful in the spring time. I've never seen any Brugs there however. A lot of naturalized azaleas all colors. I'll have to take some pictures in a couple of weeks. I hoep the frost is gone but last year I thught the same thing and boy was I wrong. I have a spirea that is just loaded with buds and it was that way last yeat and a frost came and it had just a few blooms left.
Don't tempt me too much. I may be ringing your doorbell.I can't dig holes with my bad back but I bet I could give that Mantis a run for it's money. LOL
I'm telling.
tiG you can use the mantis anytime you want to. LOL
roflol!!!!
Dont, Tig. bad back every time!
it couldn't hurt any worse than it is right now. bring it on big Jim! lol. just kidding, I guess it can always get worse, right???
tiG I meant you could use it at my house. LOL
I bet you did too!! LOL!!!
Just kidding.
tiG I see a lot of things down in the basement besides the brugs that I got from you. The pea vine and blackie potatoe along with a lot of others.
This looks a lot like my living room looked last week!!!
It looks like most every room in the house here! Jim, glad things are doing well for you.
Looks like you are going to have quite the brug yard this year Georgiaredclay! I can't wait for your summer pictures!
Hey I found the red ginger from Lisa coming up outside today. Three of them. Also one Dr. Suess with two shoots about 3 inches long. Oh and the zebrina hollyhock is everywhere as well as the Monarda. I don't know what color it is but I think is a creamy light pink and I got it at the roundup last year I think from ViC (???). I think spring has sprung here. And the sweet william and the pink and red monardo at the pond are just as thick as honey on a southern girl's drawl. And the pink Iris from Badseed and the day lilies from Poppy Sue are just doing so good.
Azalea what happened to them from last week. You already put them out. And tiG your house was full of plants when you only had a few brugs so I can imagine it now.
Kell I can't wait fro them to start blooming.
So long as you cleaned all your equipment first, then you didn't actually tell a real lie. LOL Looks like you will be the plant man this year!!!!
Yeah and I was telling Bobbie I didn't have anything to take to the Fl. swap. LOL
Hallo Jim, seems you were very busy! I could use some help, LOL!
Jim,
It's all looking good.
Thanks Monica and Glory. Glory I have a lot of different brugs that I acquired last year from various Dave's members but got them to late for them to set blooms. I know this year Bobbie and I will enjoy the peach you sent us. They almost made blooms last year but not quite. And also the P&C.
Monica I know it takes a lot of hard work but we will enjoy them soon. Wish I could help you. All the beautiful brugs that you have and me being there to help and learn would be like going to heaven but not having to die to go.
Jim - Last week my whole living room and dining room were full of brugs, mostly bare of course, cause it was too dry for them and many leaves fell off. So yesterday, I moved them out to the back deck, but alas - today it was 76, and there was little shade - so what leaves were left got sunbleached! So this afternoon, after it was too late, I moved them all again out on the patio in the shade of our retainer wall. I had to bring them all inside in January when the temp dropped to 8F., my little gh couldn't take it. I may go ahead and put some in the ground tomorrow if it doesn't rain. And if my back recovers, Lol!!
I luv my Mantis--couldn't and wouldn't do without it! No more shovels for me, put that sucker down and it'll rip a hole into pure clay--just wear gloves and hold on tight! Then put in your ammendments and it will mix em up right in the hole. Ya'll don't know what your missing! It's definetly worth every penny (:

Jim, if you think thats bad I have pictures of my entire house covered in rooted cuttings from one winter. I know the feeling...wife gets a bit peeved after the 40 time of bringing them in and out during the first month of winter for a hunch that it just may get too cold for them outside. And then were would we be? Just think if they froze I keep telling her. Sometimes the other half doesn't understand, but it sure helps when they at least pretend they do. Thank goodness for understanding wives.
Jim....lol......I liked that.......being at Monikas........going to heaven but not having to die! that is the truth!
