Bermuda Grass in Australia.
This grass causes an allergic reaction in many people.
That is an amazing close up. It is very hard for me to get the macro to focus on something that thin.
Thank you! It was taken with a hand-held camera, and manual focusing, although now I have automatic focus and would use a tripod. The trouble with grasses is that they move in the slighest wind and a lot of patience is sometimes needed to get good close-ups. By no means all come out as well as this one.
I am very impressed. I have the same problem with wind moving the flower, that I am trying to macro. We have a lot of wind here in San Francisco.
I have been working on the problem. What I did was hold it still with one hand, and click with the other, the hand was in the picture, but then I used the eraser tool in photo shop and selected a green, then I erased the hand, it does not look very professional, but still you can't see the hand anymore.
I have oftened steadied the stem I was trying to photograph, by finding two forked twigs and placing them either side of the stem, just below my target area. This has been very successful, taking most of the movement out of the stem, often with excellent results.
There is a new camera where you can select a foreground object in a manual way to be in focus, you move a curser on the view screen and tell the camera which object you wish it to focus on.
