Not a good thing.

so what is the origin then. No joke Koko just enquiring

New York City, NY(Zone 6b)

Meaning: Diarrhoea suffered by tourists when travelling to foreign parts, in this case Mexico, and eating food they aren't accustomed to.

Origin: Montezuma was Emperor of Mexico 1502-20. The phrase alludes to countries that were colonised by stronger countries getting their own back. It exists in other forms for other countries, e.g. visitors to India may be struck by Ghandi's revenge.

Are these iris bulbs? If so, I might be up for a trade.

Love the Montezuma discussion, guys! Makes life more interesting. The phrase has indeed transfered to other places and things. My hubby's dad butchered their bull Toro, and had too much fat cut into the ground beef. Whenever he ate it, he got 'Toro's revenge.' :)

Hi NP,
Yes I have iris bulbs, still 200+. And, I have about 50 more little ones. What have you got?

Please don't make me list it all! Lol! Check out my journal and you'll get an idea of what I have. Ask away. You might get lucky.

If you've enjoyed discussion of M's revenge. You might enjoy the following links.

This story seems to be written with M's revenge moving all the way through it! odear

And well this one seems to explain, to me anyway (with my warped mind) that the revenge is in the combination of European and Aztec cuisine (legume, dairy and citrus). Check out "drunken beans".

yum yum

Oh, yea, is this thread about white iris. (I can't believe I started typo of white with the letter directly under left ring instead of directly above.) Time to change subject! ROFLMBO

So, Naturepatch do you really mean for me to look through your journal and not your trades list? (Like I shouldn't feel greedy and suggest some of the beauties you say are established! Like you'd tell me forget it if some were out of bounds!) Ok thank you.

Making very strange typos at this point after spending last two hours searching M's revenge. Time to go out and plant or dig suhmore.
bye bye

Back in the early 1970's we and a group of neighbors would go down to Rosarita Beach, Baja California and camp on the bluffs over the ocean. We regularly went into town and ate tacos made by a street vendor. Never did figure out what sort of meat he was carving!

Then one weekend we decided to go to Mission Bay in San Diego. Everyone in the group got the revenge that weekend!

Before leaving the beach we would go around and collect large trash bags of debris and tie them on top of the campers. At the border the American guards would come in looking for contraband. They confiscated a couple of potatoes because they were in a paper bag and so their origin could not be determined. They never thought to look at the bags on the roof.
