If there are any Florida DG members that know of a small, toy, or mini breed dog available for under 200.00, please let us know.
Our daughter (14) had a chance to get a cat (which she's wanted forever) when she maintained honor roll for a year. She did it, and we got a very nice kitten from the Humane Society, that hour Heeler promptly thought of as lunch. We tried for 2 days to get them "acquainted", to no avail. Many tears later, the cat returned (side note: The kitten was re-adopted while I was there), and my daughter would like to have a small dog instead. There must be a special "dog" scent. The heeler will take care of small dogs, but won't tolerate a cat/squirrel/rabbit of any size.
We're checking the humane society, but here in Sebring, Pit Bulls and Curs are 90% of the population. Looking on petfinder.com as well.
If anyone has a small breed pup, or knows someone who does, I'd appreciate the contact.
