PowerPoint/Slide Show/ Midi/WAV

Help, throw me a rope, as I have stepped into unchartered waters and about to drown. Why? My son sent me 19 digital pictures of the late snow storm in the Baltimore area. I decided to use them to make a slide show, and when I was through, thought it would be nice to add a little music to each slide. Worked beautifuly, until I tried it the next morning, receiving no sound. I can play it as long as the disc from Clip Gallery is installed and Sound Selected. I found that you cannot embed MIDI sound but can WAV. I read that you could prepare the presentation for a different computer by using Pack and Go. Tried that, no luck on my Windows XP program. Also looked into MIDI to Wave Realizers but decided that would be expensive for just one slide show. And also over my head, more sinking and drowning. What's next.
