I know it's early but I'm sort of slept out for the moment. Sitting here with a cup of strawberry tea w. honey seeing if I can get sleepy again. Maybe I'll just take a sleeping pill and sleep late in the morning. These only keep you asleep for about 4-6 hours.
We have been eating out and overeating a lot the past week or more. I feel much like a bloated tick right now. I really need to do just broth, etc. for a couple days to let my poor stomach rest a bit.
According to the weather forcast we will have some really nice weather Thursday and Friday. Maybe I can get more yarden clean up done on Thursday. Just some serious weed pulling and picking up trash around the place. I have noticed the seed potatoes aren't out at the stores yet. Ususally I get them about this time and let them sprout really well before planting them. I guess the stores ordered them for later this year. No onion sets available yet either that I noticed.
We aquired a grown cavy(guinea pig)over the weekend. Jack is not very happy about it. It was Shad's little sister's and she no longer was interested in taking care of it. She didn't want to get rid of it tho. So like a dummy I said we would take it. As tho we need another critter around here! I threatened Shad with getting rid of the bunnies if he doesn't start taking care of them better. No, his mommy won't take them for us.
The daffs, etc. are still coming up so they must know something we don't. I counted at least 9 tulips poked thru the soil last Friday. Some of the shrubs are budding out too. Shad wants me to help him put the new blade belt on the mower this week so it will be ready to run when the grass is ready to be mowed. Some clumps of fescue could use a good scalping with the weedeater any time now. They never did die off over the winter. As usual I'll have to dig some of them out of the flower beds to get rid of them.
Lisa, if you can find some of those Guatemalian bread recipes I'd really appreciate it. One lady has emailed a couple to me but they are both for banana bread. I think what he has in mind is somthing like yeast breads but heavier and a bit drier. At least that is how it sounded to us women.
The coyotes are really thick right now. Darcy the beagle was out in the pasture after dark yesterday and would NOT come to us so Shad & I walked down after her. She still would not come to him or me so he finally cornered her against some hay bales to catch her. I am concerned the dumb dog will decide to trail the coyotes and end up supper for a pack of them. We'll start locking her in the house before dark from now on. If there is one thing at least THIS Beagle isn't, it is obedient when told to come while she is hunting. In the house she is fine. But once she gets it into her head to trail you are shouting at the wind.
Lots of mundane housework type chores to get done today. Then Shad has Scouts tonight. He is meeting a couple men who have some computer game/play station controllers he wants so we'll go in a bit early. He loves the car races and will play them a lot if we let him.
I bought some Georgia red clay aka floor dry at an auto store yesterday to put in holes in the drive. I was sort of shocked at how much it took to do just 2 holes. One was somewhat deeeper than I had anticipated. At this rate I'll be spending hundreds of dollars to fill those mud holes with clay. Used cat litter has too much else in it to do much on larger holes. Even scooped litter doesn't go as far as I had anticipated. We have filled in some places with it and they don't empty back out once that clay gets well mixed in with the mud. I want to get more gravel once we get a good clay base in there. On the bright side, the scoopings from the litter boxes do a good job of running the tunneling vermin out of the flower beds. Shad's mom has 3 inside all the time cats and we have 5 who spend winter in the house so there will likely always be a good supply around for us.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
