Todays GH blooms

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It was sure nice to go out in the GH today when it was -5 outside and see some flowers. Maya is blooming like crazy and Tropical Sunset has several blooms too.

What a show you have there you lucky gal! I love it. I'd sit out there all day and pretend it was spring, LOL....
Keep the pictures coming.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Great picture,Snow.I am happy for you.I just wonder how to pollinate Tropical with Maya pollen..this would be a very new cross.
May be a apricot.orange multihybrid.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Lovely photo, especially at this time of year! I can almost smell them from here! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Terry, Really nice picture. Bet it does make you feel good to get out among the blooms. Especially at -5 degrees. I turned the heat off in my little greenhouse today. It was nice and toasty and when I went back out later it had climbed to almost 90 degrees. Had to turn a fan on. We are not warm here, but the sun was doing a good job. Tuesday night we could get 9-11 inches of snow. We just go from one extreme to another. Wish I were there to enjoy your flowers. I know I'd love it.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

see??? you have bears, snow, no power, water coming through the walls and look at this! I don't have a bud. I'm moving north!!!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

I would like to care the bears...my dream is to have wild bears here again.I like them very well.

In the Alpes and in France and Italy are already again some wild bears. Hopefully some will come to here soon, lol.

Sorry, Snow, I am not going to crash your picture, it´s really good. I only needed to say this.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

that looks wonderful Snow, and boy,was it nasty today!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I know everyone is always hitting you up for brugs, but can I have the greenhouse?? LOL Those are gorgeous!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks all. CC the weather up here has been horrible. Ludger, some of the bear here are very tame. We had a big one a couple of years ago that would stand up at my deck and take a donut out of my hand very gently like a dog.DH saw me do it only once and forbid me to do it again. SO I fed him when he was at work LOL
Good minds think alike.Tropical Sunset is pollinated with Maya.Only had one flower on Maya that I could get pollen off. The rest were dry.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

So very good to see this. Thanks for sharing. We are in for approx. 7" of NEW white stuff! BUT, supposed to get up in high 40's rest of week, so if they don't change it, think I can handle that.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Gee, lol, you have had a private with a bear..lol lol.

I envy ( enviable) you. My sister talked about this in (from) Canadian mountains, she lived about three years there and met her husbund there ( he is from India not a bear, lol.)

Wish you all luck you´ll need for this cross.
Dry pollen in wintertime are normal.
Very good that you have found one flower with good pollen.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

Beautiful flowers! I hate to think about what the heating bill is for your green house though.

I have a Raccoon that comes and takes bread out of my hand. He is cute as can be, and comes every night and watches TV through my sliding glass door.
Had he been a bear, I don't think I would have got the idea to start to hand feed him. But now I can tell my BF when he complains about it, that this is nothing, I know somebody that feeds a bear.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

LOL Paintedlady! I don't feed them anymore. Hunters got my big gentle friend a year ago. A neighbor down the road has fed them for years. Each year they bring their cubs to her house and this is why they are tame and also not afraid of women. This is not good when you take the fear of humans away from them. That is when they can become a terrible pain in the neck.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

And to think I was feeling sorry for you with all that snow,Now I see what you are sitting under in the GH,LOL,no more pity from me,I'd wade buck naked through a foot of snow to sit there and smell them Brugs!guess I better make sure my windows are up on my truck before you do your VooDoo on me,LOL,Nice shot!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

What a beautiful site Snow. We are getting 1-3" tonight and under a winter storm watch for tomorrow night for another 4-8". The cold just slices right through you. Come on spring!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Waterloo, I hear ya. It seems like winter will never end.
It's -15 here right now and dropping.
LOL Root! If you waded to my GH buck naked you'd be a frozen icicle before you got there at -15 degrees. Keep those windows rolled up. You never know what the weather might be.

rural, WY(Zone 3a)

What a nice photo, I wisk my x knightii would bloom, it s loaded with buds but incredibly slow!
I have some amazing photos of wild bears, I seem to attract them! I even have photos of grizzly's while hiking last summer- what a wonderful sight! If you respect the bear, they will respect you and gift you with beautiful photographs.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

What a beautiful sight. It seems that spring has come at least into your GH, snow. I have only one of my new pink hybrids flowering, Ludger saw it on my birthday. It has mini flowers because of the short daylight and the cool temps in the GH.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Dennis, you can bet I would'nt feed a grizzly a donut. LOL
Monika, I can't wait for spring to come to your GH. Your blooms are always amazing.

Great pictures snow. I'm sure it feels much more like Spring in the GH than outside.

Ludger, if you come to visit I can show you lots of bears. They hang around the garbage dump all the time and come into people's backyards too. Personally I only like them from a distance.

Where in the Canadian mountains did your sister live?

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Jeanne, next to Toronto. We have some aunts, uncles and cousins there ( it is the motherline of my parentage..lol)

They have a weekendhouse somewhere in the mountains.

Ludger, there are no real mountains around Toronto. They call some Blue Mountains where they ski but they're pretty tiny mountains. Now out West, we have real big mountains. LOL

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

I never have been there, I will ask my sister where this house is.Our highest mountain here is about330 feet " high"....
