Surfing the net regarding passion vines and found the following information:
One of the most interesting facets of the passionflower is the religious symbolism attached to it. As the legend goes, a Jesuit priest in Peru in the 17th century discovered passionflowers and had a vision that associated the various parts of the flower with the crucifixion. The five petals and five sepals represent the ten faithful Apostles present at the Crucifixion. The five anthers represent Christ's wounds, the pistils the nails, and the corona was the thorny crown. The leaves of the passion vine were Roman spears, and the tendrils their whips.
You older viners may have aready heard this information -- but for me a newbie I thought it was so interesting.

I hope you get better soon.I had strep throat years ago, and would never wish it, on anyone, it is Awful! I have been sick too, can only whisper...I wonder if I will ever be able to talk normally, again.

Janet, you take good care of yourself. The plants can wait. I wish I was nearby so I could make you some chicken soup to drink and some nice lemon and honey tea too.

Janet, this may sound odd but it will help your strep throat go away. My chiropractor told me this years ago and I did it on my son. It really DOES work. Buy a bottle of Iodine and paint about a 1-2" strip on each wrist. Repeat this process periodically throughout the day. Just don't let any pets lick you since it's poisonous. The salt from the iodine will go through your bloodstream and kill the infection. Strep throat is caused by a bacteria and salt will kill it. Try to stay away from anything sweet as bacteria feeds on sugar and will prolong your recovery from it. Hope this helps :)


Forgot to add that if you do this, it should be gone in a few days. My son's disappeared after only 2 days and it was so bad that I took him to the doctor's who wouldn't you know it, gave him a lollipop after the visit. I didn't know about the sugar then until I went to the chiropractor on the way home. Didn't even bother with buying the antibiotics, just went for the iodine ;)

thanks guys. i am feeling some better today. managed to get groceries bought and youngest has a band concert tonight.
i have not dug all the vines yet but plan to start doing so again on thursday. just be patient and they willl be on their way soon.
