Galanthus from Germany

New York City, NY(Zone 6b)

Opened a box from my Mother~in~Law yesterday, and what did I find inside? A clump of freshly dug Galanthus: a colony of maybe 20 bulbs ~~~ sent from Delve, on the shore of Germany's Eider River (right up by the North Sea).

Some are just in bud, some in bloom, with a healthy flush of foliage. Lovely strong roots.

The flowers appear to be semi~double. I don't own a digital camera yet, so will post my scanned shots as soon as they come back from processing.

I'm on my way now to find a nice spot in my garden for these little guys to settle in.

Your collection's beginning to take off then Adam :)
Can you get a close up of the flowers on this?

I gave these babies a nice little plot in my garden. Until I know what sort they are I've labled them Galanthus Margot, after my mother~in~law (who by the way, has an absolutely genius garden).

I have neither a digital camera, or macro~optics. I'm still undecided about the digital camera I ought to get, as I only want to buy it once.

But..., soon..., ;~)

What a lovely thought - Galanthus Margot!

Can you describe Margot's garden for us please? What sort of plants does she have (other than Galanthus)?
