This is the same garden area taken this morning. I can't wait to see those Brugs out there again but with another snowstorm coming this weekend it will only be in my dreams.

Gosh Snow, you have a long way to go to see grass, wish I was getting all the moisture you have,OPPS forgot not to wish anymore with you around!LOL

LOL Root. Yes, your wishes may come true "again". :)

Snow, your garden looks just as discouraging and the weather report doesnt make it any better. The snow seems to be glued onto the ground, it refuses to melt.

I replanted the first seedlings. Actually today, I planned to pot cuttings, but instead, I searched through my pictures to escape the weather outside - fog so thick you dont see any farther than 10m.

Monika, We need a trip to Florida just for the winter. I thought Arlene said she is getting ready to plant hers outside now.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I agree! We overwinter at arlenes home as long as she doesnt plants us outside with her brugs LOL! Mme Blins brug year starts on the 16. April and ends on the 16. Oct. Mine starts from the 15.May upwards and ends mostly in Mid-September and I think, yours is just as short.

Terry, in Germany is a heating system available. Sun heats up water in black plastic water hoses and it warms ground and GH most of the night. It works even without sun. If you are interested, I post a picture of it.

Monika, I agree, anything colored black or dark really absorbs solar heat now.
The peak of my GH has the black landscape fabric lying across the insulation I have on the rafters. The daytime temperatures are getting up to 30C+ up there and I am able to blow that heat back down with a bathroom exhaust fan I set up in that space and funnel it on to the floor of the GH. I can leave the heaters off now on a sunny day even when the outdoor temperature is below freezing.
Even on a cloudy day, the peak temps get warm enough to make running the exhaust fan worth while and decreases the times the heaters are working.
Spring is definitely on its way here in southern Ontario. :))

I believe, spring is an old man (or woman)which have much problems with climbing up our hills because it takes so long LOL!

Its surprising how simple things can help. It reduces the heating costs quite a bit.

I will buy some more of these hoses and my husband is going to hang up a big black plastic bag, filled with water to increase the warm water storage.

Snow, I am sorry to hear that you still are having that bad weather. Here spring is coming, no freezing next days.

Your wish is my command Root. LOL
Hmm, Monika maybe we should go to Ludgers house. LOL
The news said today that Monday thru Wednesday is going back down to - 25F at night. Mother Nature is teasing us here as it was 32 today and sunny.Just when you think that maybe spring is on the way another Artic cold front comes in. :(

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

We are supposed to go back down to 6 degrees tomorrow night. I've got two heaters in the greenhouse and I'm ready to fight the cold off now. We had snow last night and this morning. Only about a half inch, but most of it has melted off now. Terry, hang in there. Spring will reward us one day, we just don't know when.
