My 2 year old purple Datura seeds did germinate but haven't grown any true leaves. It's been 16 days, but nothing. I sacrificed one to check the root system and it looks great. They're in individual peat pots of starting soil, on heat mat, were under fluorescents but I am now putting them in direct sun light, keeping them damp-watering from bottom, don't know what else to do?? Suggestions please.

Try taking them off the heat mat, keep then under the lights and water from the top when the soil looks dry. I don't think I would put them in direct sunlight yet. Someone may come along with more info for you.
Snow, what you said is very ok. Sometimes Daturaseedlings do germinate and then stand and stand without growing.
I dont know why.
After some weeks they start to grow again.
