Is it seed harvesting time yet? Now that we're settled into our new home, I'm interested in trying my hand at some brug seeds. I bought a packet from tiG, got germination, but alas they died the move down here (along with most other tender plants). :(
So, can anyone spare some seeds for SASE?

Dave, Send me your address and I'll have some on the way.
Don't forget you can get 3 pkts of named crosses at BGI.There's several crosses to choose from.
dave, I have some good ones I'll send. send me your addy. and yes, don't forget the BGI bank. There are some good crosses there.
It looks like you're going to be swimming in seeds Dave. LOL
Anything else you need?
Dave..if ya don't get enough let me know too! :-)
I just planted the last of mine to get them out of the way. See what you get for not letting us know that you were moving? I'm sure you will get some great seeds from these guys. Just remember to keep us informed of how they are doing and post pictures of the blooms. I'm happy for you and Trish. Hope you will be really happy with the new place. Looks great.
Send your address Dave.I have a few :>)
Dave, boy have i been out of the loop! i hope you enjoy texas, if i weren't in florida i think that's where i'd want to be.
Thanks everyone - with the generosity of you guys I'm definitely swimming in seeds.
Brugs are one thing that deer down here don't tend to eat, so I'll be growing double what I grew in TN. With these seeds, I should get -plenty- of good brugs to grow. With our long growing season, maybe I'll get seeds of my own!
Best,
dave
Dave, I've got some triple, purple datura (metel variety). Also, I was going to send you some Purple Majesty Ornamental Millet from the co-op we had. It would probably look very nice down there :) Just need your addy if you're interested. Got lots more, too, if you've any special requests thanks to your great site!!!
Speaking of seeds................. what exactly is the seed etiquette if you grow someones's seeds?
I would think you should offer the seed maker a piece of the brug you grew.
I am sending out seeds and receiving seeds, so I would like to know from both perspectives what is the right way to act.
Kell, the hybridizer gets the credit for the new plant. As for offering a cutting, who knows. That has never been a problem here that I know of.Cuttings have been offered automatically. For practical purposes, the grower will either offer or not.No way to force the issue.
gone2seed has it right, in my opinion. I grew seeds from Calalily and ended up with "Orange Cat", (which Cala graciously allowed me to name). I did offer her a cutting, if my memory serves me (if I didn't, I sure meant to).
dave
Oh wow......was Orange Cat Cala's? She must have taken you up on that one, Dave. It was such a beauty!

Dave, tell everybody to seen you some cuttings. I imagine in Texas , it is just about planting time outside like here. Everybody loaded me up with brug starts, and I just bet you will have enough to make them a fence around your place.
I will be glad to send you some, but you will have to be happy with old varieties, like Frosty, and Dr. Seus, and a few I have that is good. I have maya, and will have some other pretty good ones.
Dave, you just made my day! I had forgotten about the deer resistant factor! MaVie sent me cuttings last year, but I was in and out of the hospital and didn't pot them up as she suggested. They rooted in water, and are still there waiting for the weather to settle, and they have beautiful tops. Is it a good time to plant them outside now? I came here looking for a solution for the aphid problem. Surprised me when the little critters were so persistent right in my kitchen, after a detergent bath and an alcohol shower. If it hasn't been mentioned here, any ideas?
Kell..if I grow anyone elses seeds I giv ethem the option to name any good cultivars..and offer them cuttings. When I send out seeds I always say"If you get an awesome plant please send me a cutting" Thats only fair as the hybridizer did the cross. :-)
That reminds me that I have to get down to my aunt's house and get you a couple of cuttings from last year's seedling. Would it be better to get the cuttings after it is actively growing or is now okay?
That sounds fair to me Kyle............. that is what i will do and hope is done back to me, esp when one of my seeds grows THE double pink.........LOL!!
Wishing you the best Kell . . on the double pink!
LOL Deb......and you know I will share with you!
I can't wait to see all the doubles & singles of all colours emerging from the US this year! I'd better get Drewl protection for my Keyboard..LOL
Best of luck everyone,
Bruno
