I planted some seeds today that I received in a round robin last summer that are supposed to be a double purple datura/brug. I put the flat on a heating cable in the GH at 70 degrees. Is there anything I shoud know about these that would be helpful? The seed package said double purple was the flower form and color. Will they come true to that or will they be something different depending on pollination? Any information would be helpful as I am not very knowledgeable about these beauties.
Planting brugs from seed.
What you have is a double purple Datura and yes it will come true from seed. I don't plant Daturas but someone will come along and let you know if you are doing the seeds right.
Either have I, Joann. But bet they germinate easily.
I plant datura every year and they do germinate real good. You are doing it right. After they get there true leaves and you transplant them they will really take off.I have the double purple and double yellow. If you don't get them all transplanted the poor little things will bloom in the flat. Don't ask me how I know. :o) Lindakay
