Not 'Shredded White' .. this is one of my mature 'Peach Versicolour'.
Every once in a while it produces shredded flowers.
I have thought light, temps, deficiencies, sporting ... what ??
Today I pollenated this flower. But am wondering if I should try rooting this branch.
Opinions? .. advise?
'Shredded' ....NOT!!?
Dont worry about this flower, it is normal in wintertime. Even in an well temperated and lighted GH. The genetic from this brug is not changing.
Each winter I have such flowers at my brugs-I let them flower and fall down. In late spring there are much normal flowers again.
To be honest: Somtimes I am wondering why they do so...only in wintertime.
I've never seen this before. Can't life with flowers be interesting and peek the curiosity?
Too bad it doesn't stay like that. A Shredded Pink would be cool.
Abutilon, is this peach colored now or white? Very interesting......none of my winter flowers have done this.
thanks
Alice,
I too have had some do this from time to time...strange.
John,
I hope you didn't think we could remember all these crosses.... LOL ...when it come to remembering I'm the world worst. I use a piece of mini blind( about 3inchs long) with a hole punched in it and a string attached to mark my seeds.
Hi Alice...Take a few more photo's! it's great to have these things on record! There's definitly something specific which causes these petaloid blooms! Pollinate it anyway...don't give up before you've tried, I always say!
Best of luck,
Bruno
Kell,
This is my Versicolour Peach. It came out a cream colour, now turning peach.
I will get another photo as peach.
Bruno,
I crossed this bloom with Butterfly. Looks I will have at least 2 more blooms like this.
Will cross those with something else. Will be interesting to see if these 'take'.
Thanks (o:
Snowhermit,
Yes, a Shredded Pink would be neat (o:
Very cool Alice, one of these days I am going to have to make it up to your place, you have posted some very beautiful things. I would love to walk through your greenhouse.
Alice...when the two other blooms open, will you take a photo for us?
