A little tight inside .. but I love this simplistic little 'double'.
Always looking forward to its blooms.

'White Lady' in Winter ...
When can I move in? I'd love to be able to see your brugs in bloom in person. I'm sure glad you have them for your own enjoyment and ours. Thanks so much!!
Me too. Thanks for this picture
Very pretty Alice.
Is this the one your daughter hybridized? Pretty one!
Thanks for sharing pictures with us.
Hi Gloria,
Not my daughter's brug.
Don't know who to credit 'White Lady' s origin.
Maybe someone here DG knows?
But I had it several years.
Daughter's brug is 'Phantasm's Tears'. Finally has buds again (o:
Yeah!
Way to go Alice, now get her to hybridize a double pink.
I have never heard of a "White Lady"?
Alice,
Keep'em coming!!!
I love the uncomplicated shape of this one! Beautiful!
Bringing this back up. Does anyone know the origin, hybridizer of this beauty, 'White Lady'?
Sorry Alice. This is the first time I have heard of it.
Hi Alice, Just Bringing this back up for you. :o)
Mme Neu had a hybrid by this name but according to her daughter, it has not been a double. I will ask her again.
Thompson + Morgan in their 2000 catalogue listed a 'Double White Lady'. If that is any help.
T&M also has it in their 2003 catalog. It's listed as Datura x c. Double White Lady
The problem with this guys, is that T&M are a seed company and they're selling seeds of a double brug and giveing them the name 'Double White Lady'! I've recently spoken to a woman in the UK who has grown these T&M seeds and apparently all the seeds produced White Doubles! It's quite possible that T&M have developed a double Brugmansia cultivar that comes true from seed as they've done this with several other plants like Canna! However, plants must be crossed with their parents or siblings in order to continue coming true in future generations (I think..LOL)
I will be surprised if this brug is from a TM seed. I had this 'White Lady' maybe 5 years now and received as a well grown rooted cutting. It is a shorter (compact) at least double/triple flower. Leaves slender, a bit curled, deep green and velvety.
Trying to remember who I acquired this. A hard reminder today to keep written records )o:
Though I have been doing now.
Alice, try posting to the Yahoo Brug forum! Someone's bound to know there!
