This was from last fall...*SIGH* when it was still warm outside!!LOL This is an old hybrid..large long lasting flowers.Deep green ruffled foliage.
Hibiscus Ross Estey
Another beauty. Soon we will have the warmer temps back. Just keep saying that.
Deb...I sure hope so ..feels like Siberia outside tonight... BBBRR!
Very pretty, Kyle. Although I think that something that pink and ruffled should have a girl's name!
I know what you mean about the cold, we woke up to a snowstorm that dumped almost a foot of snow on us (a lot for us, everything is closed tomorrow).
I had daffodils ready to bloom, too :(
Ronna: We got about an inch here. Most of it went south of us, your way. It's that jetstream. I'm not complaining now, but sorry you got dumped on.
Kyle: Tonight is to be -9 below. Hopefully, this will be the last of the frigid temps. Each winter gets worse with age.
Another pretty one Kyle. I think I better go back to Logee's or some other place and Yep, place another order. My hibiscus in the basement are totally bare looking. Do you think they will bud out when warmer weather and long days arrive, if they do? I sure hope so.
brugie are the stems still pliable and green?if brittle and tan or brown..hold a wake! :-) I lost many this winter too..left them out too late and they got Too chilled before bringing them in . :-(
I'll have to check. If still pliable, do I just continue as I have been? I can't get any light for them until I can put them outside.
I held a wake. :(
Kyle,this is a beauty!!
Your picture sure brighten my day up.
Do you have you have to take this one inside?
Christmas cactus..yes its a tropical hibiscus.Grown alot in the old days in California. Now they have so many new colors and hybrids.
Oh Bonnie, I hope it wasn't this one. Well, any of them would be hard for me to part with, but it may happen. If Kyle lost some, no doubt I will have too. :-(
oh no, not this one. just the three I had. broke my heart and I really did try with them. :(
oh, lidakay..this is so delicate...with the red throat..do you know the name or cultivar? Elaine
Beautiful! I have such trouble with hibiscus, they just don't do well for me so I'm trying out the ones I grew up seeing around town. The old single reds and pinks and yellows. Maybe I'll have luck with those.
Kyle, Your rooted cutting of the dainty little pink Hibiscus is ready to be shipped when your weather clears. I'll send you an email!
Floridian...Thanks email when its time..I'll send the postage. :-)
Kyle,I was just reading through my Logees catalog,I see that Sunray is yours,I did not know that, have had so many Brug names going through my head lately,I didn't pick up on this,I'm a little slow sometimes,I want to say Congrats, how many years ago did you do it?Can't wait to see what you release next!
Bob
Thank You. No name. Just one I got at Wall Mart. I have three colors. That one , a red one and another yellow just a little diff shade. I'm pretty isolated here. A hundred miles from any large city. I have to mail order for orchids. I have had good luck ordering over the internet. I haven't tried ordering any hybiscus. Linda
rootDR I did Sunray several years back.......Milk N Honey, and about 10 others ....NHE in fla. carries a bunch of mine .
Linda, try http://hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com/pages/hiblist.htm and Logee's at http://www.logees.com/store/ Both places have some nice tropical hibiscus.
Would you believe I got a Logee's catalog yesterday. I didn't remember sending for it. It's wonderful. I better hide my credit card from me!! :o)
I've already placed one order and am thinking about another, but one day, Jim is going to destroy all the catalogs and credit cards. Guess I'll have to be sure to NOT tell him about online ordering. He thinks I do all of this over the phone. :-)
Good idea. :o)
