This poor tree was too big for my hoop house so I pulled it from the ground and put it in my house. It hated it indoors unlike all my other brugs and dropped 75% of its leaves. When it started to look really bad I moved it back outside just in time for a terrible wind storm then 2 nights of frost. It promptly lost the rest of its leaves. I just moved it to the front yard and put it in a huge clay pot, complete with border dahlias to perk up the pot in the summer. It stands over 12 feet!
I just haven't had the heart to cut off the side growth yet.
My first alley tree potted up!
Your poor plant! Do you think anything else can happen to it, LOL! 12 feet, think how gorgeous it will be very soon. What brug is it? I can't wait to see the blooms.
You did a great job on this.
Cot them, root them and send them this way.....I'll be a good brug monmmy,I swear......
It will look lots better in a few weeks........
Which one is this Kell? Looks like you will have some nice cutting material at the base of it before long. Never, never, would it make it outside here. We are still looking at a night of below zero temps tonight or tomorrow night. Guess I'll find out how the bubble insulation works in the greenhouse.
It looks great Kell after all it been through. Which one is it? Shirley I bet it will be so nice when your able to use your greenhouse. I want one but for right now DH has ordered me a garden window for in the dining room. What a surprise that was.
Deb, I'll bet you will enjoy your new window a lot. I have a bay window in the livingroom and it is full of plants. Every window is full of plants and I have lights over a 4X8 sheet of plywood in the basement. I need to get out to the greenhouse soon. We look at plants in the windows all winter long. At least I can't see ALL the dirt on the glass.
Wow Kell that looks great to me, my Versi-orange cutting is getting very big like that. I also noticed yesterday that one of my E. pinks is getting ready to bloom, it looks really funny, just a few leaves and a big ole' bud hanging on it. They are really wanting to be outside. Some of the cuttings are starting to grow over the grow lights, so some time today I must go out and rearrange.
12 feet? Sorry kell, dont know how many meters but doesnt matter, its a nice tree.
Monika- 3.6 meters, if I've done the conversion right *grin*
Gosh Kell! You are a serious Brug abuser! LOL I guess I could put mine outside too. How many inches deep do they like to be planted in snow?? LOL
Very nice Kell, can see your ole' green thumb.
I'm like CC, root them and send them to Ohio, I promise to take real good care of them.
Thank you. Thats a good size for a tree.
Gee, Sorry.............. it is my P & C. It really is very tall. I woke up in the middle of the night............. realizing I goofed in my choice of border dahlias. I put in a bright yellow but now am thinking I should go out and switch to ruby red. I can visualize red with the variegated leaves. I need Martha Stewart to come advise me!
I am working on a Brug Alley driveway! LOL My suburbia version of Monika's grand alley
It looks like that will be a great tree.
I'm kicking myself for letting a 9 foot tree freeze. I never thought about saving it, then everybody started to talk about alley trees. The only comfort is that it was just a white seedling. Nothing special, other than that it got 9 foot tall in about 8 months.
My husband just told me I lied..........it is 10 feet tall.
Paintedlady..........this year just let your suckers grow and you can get some nice straight ones. Also seedlings grow up staight and tall I hear! Soon you will have too many to count.
Great tall plant Kell. Give it a few weeks and it will look good as new.
Hey Kell....you didn't lie, you are just shorter than Tom so your tree looked twelve feet tall to you. :-)
LOL Brugie........ I may take out a tape measure..........
