Look whose working in my greenhouse....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Rootdoctor arrived this afternoon and I promptly put him to work putting up the rest of the bubble insulation. Couldn't see myself sitting on the ground under those shelves. Yes, I did cook for him and we have had lots of good conversation about our favorite subject.....plants. Tomorrow we go visiting greenhouses. I hope I can keep my credit card in my billfold.

Geez, I can't believe I wrote "whose" instead of "who's" in the title of this thread. I'm not nuts, just tired. Sorry.

Ms Brugie, you lucky gal. hope you find some good plants and get your greenhouse cranking. it's time for me to plant in the ground, yeah!!!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

We had a nice trip to Des Moines. I didn't buy too much today. Only spent about 55 bucks. Did get Jim his citrus tree. Hope it will hold the oranges that are already on it. I know nothing about them. Gave Bob some leftovers for a late lunch, and we packed up some plants and he is on his way home now. I sure do appreciate his help with the greenhouse. Now all I have to do is fire up the heater and see how it works. I'm tired, so I'm going to look around here for a while and then take a little nap. Thanks everyone, I was lucky to have his help. By the way Arlene, I'm so jealous. We won't be planting anything out here until after the first of May. Seems like we have a lot of winter left and are looking at below zero temps again by the first part of the week.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

What a BLAST!My jaw hurts from all the Yackin and laughing, could not get the smile off my face for the whole 3 hour trip home,I had the best time,Shirley I'm still stuffed!

Sounds like all of you had a wonderful visit and when you combine that with good food and a work project it had to be the best. I think it was such a nice deed for Root to help you and I am so happy that you have a place to work in on nice sunny days getting things ready for May when you can plant out.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Boy Frannie, I'm ready to move plants to the greenhouse for sure. This place is crowding in around me with nothing but green leaves. I keep whacking them off to make room for the light to get through, but the darn things just keep growing. Bob did a great job on the greenhouse insulation and didn't even crack his head on the shelving. I was impressed. :-)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I looked like a rolling greenhouse coming back home!Had to peek between the leaves to drive,LOL,I'm sure I got the best of this job, great food, great friends, great plants!

Truck didn't look as green as it will on the trip in May!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Now you have me intrigued Root, you are going to make another plant road trip in May?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Liz,Shirley has been gracious enough to let us midwesterners get together at her place for a plant swap in May.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Glad you guys had fun..should have emailed me I would have taken you guys to work for a quick tour!! :-)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Kyle I would have needed a tarp if we went to one more GH,LOl,I wanted to bring you some of my FILs' Salsa but he did not have any ready,:( I will bring a case in May.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kyle, I misread your email and thought you were out of town this weekend. Knew you didn't usually work on Sat. Beside, Bob had to get back to KC before dark, or at least wanted to, so we were hootin and scootin. How about this spring during the first week of May. Bet it would be pretty nice up there then too. Thanks. The two days just wasn't long enough.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Sounds like you guys had a great time. I am looking forward to the roundup in May.
What nurseries did you visit in Des Moines? I am going there next Tue/Wed. I will be working at Reiman Gardens at Iowa State U on Tuesday and then go on to Des Moines late Tue afternoon.

Brugie,
enjoy your greenhouse!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You sure had a nice time! How about coming to my place and continue LOL!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Hey ,the Dr made the news letter!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika, I'd love to come to Germany if I didn't have to fly. No doubt if I asked Jim to go on a trip over there, he would jump and start packing.

Arlene, I'm not terribly familiar with DM nurseries. We only went to Holubs and then out to Lowes. Bob needed to get back home by dark, so we didn't travel around much looking for any other nurseries. He had over three hours of travel to get home from here.

Gosh you guys get up early. I was so tired last night that I napped early and then went to bed earlier than usual too. I didn't get up until 8 this AM. I'm still tired.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Way to go Dr! It sounds like you all had a great time.

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

Shirley & Root DR.: Thought about you guys on Friday. So glad Root finished putting the bubblewrap on for ya. I know Shirley feed him well, she is a great cook and a very gracious hostess. Sounds like you two had a great time.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Monika, you need to put Ludger to work at his next visit........... maybe Brugie will tell you her secret to get her guests to work so hard for her! LOL

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Glad you all have a great visit and time together.

Tennille, GA(Zone 8b)

It looks like ya'll really had a good day! If ever you wanna come to my place for a chat on plants you two are MOST welcomed! :) Root, I bet you looked funny riding down the road with all those plants!!!!!

Chamma, he looked funny hugging that BOP for sure. We had the back seat full of stuff, so there was no place for it to go except up front with us. Glad I was driving.
