source for David Boulin hibiscus?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I have to have it. hopefully price won't kill me:)

tiG,
The president of the local hibiscus society. Works in a garden center near my home I will pop in and ask if he can get a grafted starter size and post back here if he can with a price.
I have just about given up on the hybrids down here as gall midge, red scale , black scale you name it has taken a huge toll .The only way to keep them in the ground is to spray them continuously . While for some strange reason I can keep up with my brugs but every time I turn around there is another half eaten hibiscus!

That would be fabulous! just let me know, thank you!

tiG, Spent the whole morning sorting around the local garden centers and no cigar. Must have looked at 50 different ones! I did not see the man from the hibiscus society. The plants where way over priced and in dreadful shape anyway. If you have not found a source for one by June I will go the show and sale . A much better place for them anyhow nice gallon sized starters for about 7.00 bucs!
Of course the day was not wasted as looking in what was called assorted ferns I found the one in the PIC! Think it may be Platycerium ' Superbum' or possibly 'Grande" Already have it mounted and have been looking one of these guys for a few years !!

John,
I thought you may be looking for Cigar plants or were your refering to not smoking one? LOL

tiG,
That David Boulin is a beauty..if you find one let me know where you found it....Please.

CC , LOL give a guy a chance ! After planting 80 caladium tubers, then popping in to look DG's, I proceeded to jump in my MINI Cooper S and fight my way between the snowbirds in their standard Lincolns and Cadie's and buy 100 clams, 2 pounds of jumbo key west pink shrimp and clean and purge them ! My guests are still in the dinning room but the pic I found shows the color a bit better... ; )
Glory,, I checked out your home page and could NOT believe the gazebo your DH made for you it is stunning and could not think of anything someone could do that shows as much LOVE as this!!

Oh,sure,I'll give you a chance..

I'm sitting here bored to death with snow and you're breezing around buying seafood.......

and then you rub it in....not fair

CC, Please give me a chance : ( Nobody breezes around down here this time of year you might have snow but we have snowbirds, the traffic crawls . I cook seafood for everybody... Here is a pic of my Mom on her last B-Day, she lives in north FL. I took up 30#'s of assorted things and cooked them for her.
And if you were here right now Id cook for you too! but only if you brought cuttings !

John,
Thanks...my DH is really handy to have around. I think I'll keep him for another 39 years. LOL

We have a lot of snowbirds here too and none are in a hurry. We do like having them here....I tend to stay off HWY 90 during the winter months.

Logee's Greenhouse has it listed in their catalog for 9.95 for a 2.5" pot.

LOL, datdog... I have great luck with Logee's plants and must have looked in this springs catalog a hundred times! and never once did it cross my mind to look for it for tiG in something that is on my coffee table : )

Brugmansia, If you would have found it in Logees catalog then you would have missed out on a awsome day of plant shopping. Not to mention you wouldn't have gotten your fern *grin*! Kristi

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)
