Viola 'Sorbet Lemon Swirl'
Ohhhh, this is a beauty, yvana. I ordered the coconut swirl, I think, but now I wish I'd ordered seeds for this one! I just love violas!
I love them too!! I really like these 'Sorbet' violas! They almost GLOW!!
yvana :)
Yes, they are sweet, and they drop seed like crazy. It's always fun to see what their offspring will be! You know, I just checked the Stokes catalog, and your Lemon Swirl sure looks like their picture of Coconut Swirl! You ought to check out the Stokes catalog. They offer 25 different sorbet violas. Here's a link: http://stokeseeds.com/cgi-bin/StokesSeeds.storefront
I have both kinds, but the lemon swirl has a definite yellow tint to it. It might not be showing up in the photo. I am at work now, but I will post a photo of the coconut swirl later tonight and see how it looks. Take care weezingreens,
Yvonne
P.S. How's the weather up there?
Thanks, yvana. It's pretty warm up here right now... at least for this time of year. Almost all our snow is gone and it's raining. We're usually getting lots of snow fall now and it shouldn't be thawing until April.
Well Weez, I checked and I don't have Sorbet Coconut SWIRL, but I DO have Sorbet Coconut! But I think you're on to something...One of my pictures under Sorbet Lemon Swirl is really Sorbet Magnifico! I will add this cultivar and see if they will move the picture. Thanks for noticing!
It's warming up here in Atlanta...finally! I am glad because I can't stand the cold! Makes my bones hurt! Ha!
yvana :)
I forgot to thank you for the link to Stokes Seeds. They have a Great selection, huh?! I will see what they have for me!! yvana
Yes, yvana. They offer individual colors, rather than just mixes, and that really appeals to me. Also, they have a nice choice of quantity. Of course, all the info is an added benefit. Of course, they can be wrong, as well, so I'd double check it in Googles.
By the way, I have some violas in my seed-trade list. The Penny Orchid Frost seem to come back true from seed for me.
Wow, the Penny Orchid Frost is so cute! I have been eyeing them in the catalogs this winter. I am not familiar with seed trading yet...but I sure would love to try! I will go check out your tradelist...Thanks, yvana
One more thing...do you ever search with http://vivisimo.com ? Try it, I think you might like it. It organizes your search into outline form and eliminates all duplicate sites. :)
Looks great, Yvana. I'll give it a try and let you know how I like it!
Hey, that's a great search engine. It allows you to hone your general search down to the specifics of interest. I'll sure I'll use it more often... Thanks!
I'm glad you tried it! I do a lot of Genealogy work and I have found it to be real helpful with those type searches as well. Hey, try a search under "Weezingreens". It's all about you!
yvana ;)
Oh, Yvana! What a hoot! I searched for myself, and there in the midst of the options was my thread called "Old Tomcat sprays my Greenhouse!" LOL!
That is so FUNNY! That Ole Tomcat sounds like my cat Smokey, I believe they might be related!! He had to "christen" my minigreenhouse first thing when I came home. Then the box, then my tires, etc....Bad boy!
Oh, Yvana, I don't think you've seen that thread, unless your husband is named 'Smokey' http://davesgarden.com/t/213802/
That makes it even more FUNNY! You got ME!! Ha! Is your DH named Tom?
No, his name is Dennis, but since this thread, we tend to call him "The Old Tom"!
I asked because my husband's name is Tom! Tell Dennis he's nice for spraying out the 'house for you!
That was a CLASSIC thread! I really enjoyed it!! Y'all make a cute couple!! "Tomcat and Weezingreens"
Thanks, Yvana. Well, I'm glad the Tom that was christening your minigreenhouse wasn't the hubby, or I imagine you'd have been chasing him with a broom! Dennis has been known to add natural nitrogen to the compost pile from time to time, so I let him stir and sift it, too!
Yellow snow!
We are all too familiar with yellow snow here. Every morning my two granddoglets go outdoors to walk the yard and remark territory, then shortly after, the neighbor dogs come around and remark it!
