Why did you join this forum?

Burlington, ON(Zone 6a)

There are more than a few web sites that discuss the growing of Brugmansia.
This site came recommend to me by a member from here because they knew I had a thirst for knowledge that was not being quenched at the 'open' forums.
I was willing to spend money to learn more about these magnificent plants, their care, culture, tips and people's experiences growing them.

Already I have seedlings and cuttings I have been entrusted with from some of the folks in here and I am excited to see what lovely plants I will have this season as they mature and flower for me.

I have not been here long enough to understand the issues that have come up between some of the members, but I am aware that there are some. Maybe this is just as well because I feel free me to make this plea, for myself, other new members and even for some of the long time members.

Today I ask that you all stop and examine why you joined this forum and to try to get it back to what it was intended to be.
With each person who retires from here, knowledge that could be shared will be lost, maybe only for a while, maybe forever. Whether it be a new member or a long time member who retires due to feeling uncomfortable with some of the posts in the forum it doesn't matter.... lost is lost.

All I am asking is that you do not take an action that will take away from the newer members their access to the knowledge, sharing, learning and companionship that you all have had in the past.
Some of you have had time to get what you came into this forum to get, please do not spoil our chance to do the same.
Thank you.

Ruth Ann,
I just wanted to say welcome to this forum. There are a lot of wonderful people here and your thirst for knowledge will be quenched with the information available from them. As you can see from previous posts, most of us are so busy with our brugs that we don't have time to keep up with the silly stuff. I hope you stick around and make some great friends!

I joined DG to learn alot about alot of "stuff". Granted, the gardening part was the draw. I wasn't aware that there was so much bickering going on, or perhaps if I was I just chose to ignore it and go on my merry way. (See, I'm of Swiss descent, and you all know that the Swiss remain neutral. To this, my mother says, "You are your father's child") I hate conflict and will avoid it at all costs. So, I will remain here to learn all I can. My favorite expression that I made up about me is........."I excel at mediocrity. I do alot of things, but none of them well". Maybe this is my chance to surprise everyone! I'm in it for the long haul. :>)

Welcome Ruth A. Think you will like it here, I sure do. My love for brugs and all plants, make me overlook lots of things. Takes all kind of people to make this world, just have to all try and get along.

Relax new comers. There is really not very much bickering going on.The small amount that does go on is usually focused around just a few individuals and I predict that Dave will have a "fling out"soon. He has done it before. This has been and still is the best brug site on the web.Hang on until spring when we will stop growling at each other and get out in our gardens.

Good words, JT.

Its freezing outside..still. Last days I started to clear (up)my garden and GH´s.
Much seedlings are waiting for spring.
