I've no experience with these types of seeds. How long do they usually take to sprout. I've had them on bottom heat for almost 3 weeks and nothing yet. This time I even managed to peel the seeds which was an accomplishment on my part...guess I'm anxious to see some little babies.
Its good to be back again...I've been following the posts, just too quiet to jump in.

aurea, sanguinea and arborea seeds
Good to see you ,you were missed!
Hi Joyce, hope you're feeling better. I just looked in my notebook and in 2001 I planted Sanguinea seeds on 12/26 and they sprouted on 1/4. I would think it would also depend on the freshness of the seeds.
Hi Joyce, how "hot or warm" is the bottom heat you are using? 68°F is enough, the seeds dont like it much warmer.
Fresh seeds take 10-15 days for sprouting, can take longer, too.
Elder seeds will need ( sometimes ) 4-8 weeks or longer.
Sometimes no seed will sprout.Right now I have a seedbox with 1 seedling from about 50 seeds. Is not much.....

Thanks everyone,
I don't think the sangs and aurea are fresh seeds as I bought them in bulk from a tropical seed supplier. I have them just on moderate heat. I guess I'll just ignore them and stop checking the pots. I'm anxious to see these new additions to my brug collection. The x candida cross from a fellow turned out to be datura seeds, but he was kind enough to give me a credit for purchase. The arborea I bought from another fellow on eBay and I made sure they were the proper identification. He has lots of suaveolens and arborea seeds offered on eBay all the time.
Hi Joydie! Welcome back :) I bought some arborea seeds off e-bay too... probably from the same guy. I bought mine in December and they still haven't come up. I hope they do.
Nice to see you, and I hope you'll stick around!
Hi Joydie...hope you are felling better these days.
Hi again Joyce. Hope those seeds come up for you soon so you can see some bloom from them this year. Are you feeling any better now? Sure hope so. Take care......
Hi Joyce,
good luck with those seeds!I will be trying the paper towel method soon...running out of space on my heaters, lol.Hope you get something good out of them.

CC, Glory, Poppysue, Ludger, and Brugie -Thanks again for the warm wishes.
Poppysue I'll bet it was the same eBay fellow. Now I'm wondering if they will ever sprout since you've had your arborea seeds potted up that long.
Glory,
Your versi peach x EP seedlings are growing great guns. Most of them have versi type leaves that are extremely fuzzy. A couple of them have typical suaveolens leaves that are huge. I'm hoping to see some real beauties from those, keeping my fingers crossed.
I didn't do well at all with the Whiskers, or CG hybrids. None of those sprouted for me, have no idea what I did wrong with them or maybe the squirels helped themselves to those pots. I found them rooting in my pots on the porch all the time.
Gwist I know what you mean about heating space. I'm going to have to check out the price of heating cables for propagation and a soaker hose for watering outdoors this year!!
I had an A-ha moment,Joyce!! My son still has a heating pad for Vivariums somewherethat he used for his Iguanas.I wonder if they are less expensive than propagation ones. They are waterproof, too,so you could put it directly under a seedtray. Will let you know if it works.
Gwist
Gwist, I am using such heating pads since my iguana is gone.
It works very good, also for rooting in small pots.

Gwist and Ludger,
I'm going to check at the pet store for those. they will do for now. I checked the catalogue for the propagation cables and they went up $10 from last year. Maybe I'll surf the web and see if I can find them cheaper from the manufacturer.
Well the sanguinea seeds are viable!! Four little seed heads popping up through the soil this evening. Nothing yet from the arborea or aurea seeds.
