More poppy seed

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Like Weezie in the previous thread I too have some poppy seed. I am sorry I don't have a picture but I believe this is an opium poppy too. It is single orange with purple looking down into the throat. The petals are cut on the edges. It produces lots of seed and will self sow. Just email me your snail mail address and I am happy to share some seed.

Is this a picture of it. If it is I know it as flanders field poppy or corn poppy.
They usually reach a height of 2 to 3'. This one must have hit a pile of manure as it was over 5' tall and the flowers were almost 8" accross.

You know it does look really similar, your photo looks rose color to me and this poppy is definitely orange. Is the Flander's poppy an annual, trailingon ? The one I have sows very freely.

Yes it is an annual and it multiplies yearly. the first year I had a couple after that I had to start pulling them out as there were hundreds.

Hello,

Thanks for your generosity. I think these are the kind of Poppies I have been looking for. My 91 year old neighbor has them in her garden and they are beautiful. I can even see them from my upstairs hall window, and they outshine everything in the garden.
I sent you an email (spelled generosity wrong on the email).
I asked that you send me your address so I can send a SASE or at least postage.

Thanks again,
Carol
