Thanks Monika!I was wondering about how you had the holes in your pots located,Very nice!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

that's my plan!! I have about 20 that I overwintered like you taught us. I can't wait for spring:)

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I will be doing mine this way this spring. Even though I live in the south, all it takes is 2 nights below freezing for 8-10 hours and mine were frozen. I will plant in pots and then pull up in the winter and store them in the greenhouse. Thanks Monika for sharing this with us again.

Frannie, after digging holes in hard ground, for a couple of those big pots, do not know how many I would be planting.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Hibiscus, you just need to dig once the holes. I live in a volcanic region, full of huge rocks and you never know, what you find unless its digged out LOL.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

My holes would be filled in as soon as it rained, unless I put a pot or something back in the hole when I dug the brug out. Thanks for the idea, I might try a couple to see how they do. Would be less watering and plant care for all of summer, as pots on top of the ground are always drying out and need lots of water. Got to save that water, someday I might need a drink of it real bad.

Likewise, I can't wait either till spring and I can do this tree thing!!!! Would like to interplant the brugs with some of my voo-doo lilies, they have such interesting foliage. We'll see what happens.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Anna, sorry, are voodoo lilies "Hostas or Funkias"?

I like to use Hostas under my trees, may be we use the same?
They also have very nice foliage in green, green white and green jellow.

Thanks
Ludger

Monika: As I told you this year I will come and help you and Frank to set the alleytrees. As you told me in an other thread : I have long legs I cun run and dig.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok Ludger, when you get done at Monikas, I'll expect you here to dig and help me. Thanks

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

Monika, what age is your oldest alley tree? I do love them. I'm really new to brugs(less than a yr), but your dedication has inspired me to create a brug forest in my yard. Larry
