We recently moved to an appartment(were in a house for past 20yrs.)we have large south facing windows & baseboard hot water heat. My question is...can I grow some herbs all year around? If so any suggestions on what kind? How about scented geraniums? I am gonna MISS my garden this spring/summer/fall....... I`ll try Anyway that I can to bring some sunshine(& garden)in to our new place.
Thanks,

Herbs...Inside? HELP!!
I had an apartment with south-facing windows, and hot water radiator heat... I grew mint all year 'round, but most others I tried (basil, parsley, sage) would look worn down by fall. Having herbs in the warmer months for me was better than dried - and it gave me something to look forward to in the cold winters.
Good luck,
-Jennifer
Scented Geraniums would do wonderful in your south facing windows, as would lots of other herbs. Lemon Balm, basil, almost any of the herbs that love sun.
THANK you.....I appreciate your help,
Jen
lemon balm, any mint, I've grown lemon thyme, oregano as well as parsley. At one time I had sweet 100 tomatoes, myers lemon and a miniature lime tree. The last three were threatened and saw their demise with too dry heat and spider mites. The herbs did well though. Oh, almost forgot I have pineapple and russian sage inside right now. Oh and french taragon.
Good luck and happy cooking!
Cathy
