When you break off the top of a seedling...

Most plants are killed, because there is only one bud in the top, until true leaves form.
But, I broke off two about 2 months ago, and for some reason kept them sitting in the tray. Would you believe both have little leaves beginning? I couldn't believe it, because they are very special seeds. They are slow, but they seem to be fine.

Dennis,
I have had this with some versicolorseedlings. Slugs ate them. The seedlings grew again.
It is unbelieveble how strong seedlings can be.
It looked like a little meristem on the small "headless" seedling. Then new leafes has been formed.
