Happy Late Anniversary Mary.
Brrr, it is cold, wet and chilly outside. This a.m. we are around 45* and it feels colder.
It is so good to be back here, I've missed being on the farm. I've been keeping very busy with my expecting Does. I just can't wait to have my little kids running round again. I am praying that they all have safe births. We built a new dog pen and removed them from the goat pen. I didn't want the dogs to hurt the babies. The dogs and goats get along great, but I didn't want to take any chances. It was so cute to see all of them snuggling together in the pasture. I am not sure if the dogs thought they were goats or the goats thought they were dogs.
My chickens are laying right now and I have hardly any market for the eggs. Watch when the farmers market starts up--they will all go on strike..lol!
Potatoes are all planted and snug in the ground.
I thought yall might like to see this critter.(Armadillo) He was causing me a big headache. At night he was coming in my garden and rooting for worms and grubs. While doing so, he was uprooting all my gingers. So a couple of nights ago, I looked out the window and there he was. I grabbed my robe (yes, I was in my p'j's) and snuck around him. I took an empty garbage can and "PLOP" I put it over him. Instant 'dillo trap! He spent the night in the garbage can and in the morning I released him about 4 miles down the road. He has a cut on his head because he tore up the garbage can and it cut him. He was okay. I was cracking up laughing taking this shot, when I grabbed him by the tail he really did some squirming and Sally was laughing at so hard.
Have a good day all, stay warm and dry. God bless, Lisa
