We had a terrible wind storm 2 nights ago and this tree fell over in half. I just noticed it has a split. Should I do anything or just let it heal on its own?
thanks anyone.....................
oh dear what should I do?
Don't call roadrunner...she amputates
Put a Bandaid on it, lol!!
Alley Brug,Root it!
Kell I wonder if that liquid band-aid stuff works? I think it's like using super glue on wounds.
I think you should remove it and send it to florida to heal up
I don't know if this help or make you feel better, but Cala sent me a section of Versi-Orange about 2" thick and about 3' long from her outside brug's before they died back, I stuck the whole thing in a bucket with a couple inches of water and it is doing wonderful, one of the new limbs is taller than me now. So I would trim it off and root it, the whole peice, can't hurt to try anyway.
well there goes my sang alley tree......................
:((......maybe
maybe not, you have a very long growing season.
How big is that piece that is hanging? If you root the whole branch will it be a nice start for a new tree? I will see if I can take a picture of that Versi-orange.
typo's

Is that split the worst of it? Why not try putting a tourniquet on it and tie it back up to the stake and see what happens. Maybe dust a fungicide? I have one in the garden that Dennis looked at. It has a gash where rose canes rubbed it. He didn't think it was a big deal. I,of course thought it was terminal. LOL
I'd prune it off, it'll always be weeker, but, as with Liz's- they also grow quick and heal surprisingly well, but still in your case I'd clip it off.
I think you should experiment with it, for fun.
