I hadn't seen that one! Great site Cala!!

Looking good Cala!!!!

I read it from the gardenweb. Its short, sharp and precise and I love reading it. :) Its a great guide to pollination, cuttings and disease.

Cala, I guess that there could be written volumen after volumen of books to deepen these subjects, but you manage to say the same in picture and words on a few websites and that is fantastic! Good going, Cala :)

Cala, you've done a marvelous job. I sure miss your sunny cheery face around...., and I think back at all the plants that I have received from you in the past, all the knowledge that you shared with me and others, and in case I havent said it before, thanks for everything...

No Ludger, it is not a site on lizards, but on brugs! What site were you looking at?

No, it was lizards, Ludger, but not on Calas site. I think I saw a few lizards on another website or maybe it was on Daves Garden. *lol* I know I saw a few where I least expected to find them. *lol* In the Brug forum *lol*

Tonny.... looks like a snake to me! LOL

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Personally, i was expecting the words to the boy george song. anyone who hasn't been to the bgi site lately should go there, it is born of the burgs and friends forum, and has many wonderful pics from our european friends, and articles. thanks all you hard worker bgi people! (i am a sloth, i only do the seed bank).
edited cause i sure didn't proof what i said!

okay, just in case a newbie wanders into this thread:)
http://www.brugmansias.org/ and wonders what arlene was talking about:)

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

??? Sloth? Kharma Chameleon? snakes in Cala's greenhouse, and BGI. I just don't get it.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

You are my kind of people, some a little "nutty", I understand what you are saying, and still love you! Like I said," my kind of people".

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

By me too, Tracey. By the way, Sam's has great caladiums - 50 for 11.95, no 1 1/2 -2. All are named- think White Christmas, Red flash, and a few others. Will go today and find out the names of the others. We need to ask Cala what are some of the others that are sun tolerant.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Roz, Kyle said last year that they all can take sun, just water them more.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Caladiums are one bulb I don't have good luck with. Always tried to grow them in the shade. Maybe I better try again. You guys in the south are so lucky. We won't get that kind of stuff up here for a long time yet.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh we can't put them in the ground until the ground is warm, May or so. I start them in pots. I had some in the brug bed last year with full sun, but because of the water, they did great. I'm not certain if it's every single type, but this was a dark red shiny leaf type. I need to get to Lowes while there are still some big bulbs left.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

sorry guys i had my fingers on the wrong keys. i was trying to say that i am a sloth, as i only do the seed bank, and have not really done much to help bgi at all. i went back and edited.
no kharma chamelion connection that i know of, not trying to say anything, i really only remember the melody and not the words words to that song, just popped in my brain when i saw chameleon and i am so used to people singing on this forum.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Tracey............Tonny linked to a picture in Cala's greenhouse that has a beautiful sleek baby green snake drinking water from her brug leaf............. but I sure do not get all the rest either!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well, let's just skip it and talk about bulbs. :-) tiG, you would have died if you had seen all the bulbs our botanical center had growing last year and Kyle said they throw them away when done with the season. Made me kinda sick.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

gee brugie.......you know who you could send them to..........lol

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I kind of remember someone who spent something like over $$$$ on bulbs this year. I think you have enough now, don't you?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

never enough is my motto!!! Comes from being the middle child of 5......never got anything that was mine alone. Seems to me you share this trait when it comes to brugs........LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I would if I had the bulbs too. I am not a bulb person. Too many critter around our property like them for lunch.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Brugie, tell me........don't you think we are a bit weird? Here we have been emailing straight back and forth for what 4 hours now and then we start having a parallel conversation on this thread also? What does that say about us? (no nasty comments from the peanut gallery please) LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Says we aren't bright enough to mail one long letter instead of dozens of one liners. Would have been worse if Liz and Gloria had been with us today.

I liked the snake in Calas Jungle house, even if it was not a lizard *lol* Sloth? Kharma Chameleon? BGI? I don`t understand. Please explain??? Am I slowly? *lol* :)

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Shirley,

as tiG told ( or Snow?...lol) you can keep Caladiums in pots very well. In full sun in summer, watch!!! the spider mites....
During wintertime put them in a dark corner inside and forget them...no water since you can put outside in late spring ( C. like it warm ) or in early spring in GH.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Tonny, I think Arlene explained it above in her post. Just dreaming of a song.

Thanks Snow, I read down to Traceys post and didn`t get the rest. Apropos Boy George, popstars and stuff, we are sitting here watching the Madonna movie of how she became a star *lol* There are many re-sendings of series and movies in Danish TV, so its nice for a change with something that has not been showed before. *lol* Now I only need them to show "The two towers", the second Tolkien movie, then it has been the top of Danish television for this Century *lol*
Well, back to the bulbs and to Madonna :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Ludger, thanks for the info. I might really try them again. Sure didn't know about the spider mites.

Kell :-)

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Welcome Shirley !

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

lol kell - wish we could all wake up tomorrow and hear on the news a report of lunches, dinners and chocolat chip cookies.
