Dripping Springs, TX

there is a D. meteloides listed in the Chiltern seeds catalog and website.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

The Chiltern site makes many mistakes that show that they haven't given much thought to their text in a long time -- for example, they make no distinction between daturas and brugmansias. In fact, 'brugmansia' is completely replaced with the word 'datura.'

They also have no pictures, which makes it hard to see what they are referring to at all. In any case, the double purple datura you are probably looking for is not D. meteloides (completely white, possibly with undertones of light blue sometimes), but a cultivar of D. metel. Try searching 'Cornucopaea' and 'Black Currant Swirl' as cultivar names.

I ordered seeds of the Eryngium Blue Datura from Gardensgreen on Feb. 15 and received them today Feb. 25. I will put a positive post on Garden Watchdog for them. A big plus is that they don't charge shipping and handling on seeds. Also take notice that the seeds are from Plants of Distinction of England. I've wanted these for so long. So glad to be able to grow them this year.
Here is a scan of the seed packet.

I think that datura is actually D. metel 'fastuosa'. Maybe someone not guessing could answer lol, but it looks nothing like any meteloides/wrightii that I've seen.

Root,
That's a nice plant-I like the combo, you have planted together. Thanks for the picture.
