The baby is sleeping...I'm amazed at the way these cats sleep hanging from their back feet. When the big one sleeps he often get so relaxed that he rests his head on a lower leaf and his antennae get really long. It has been such fun watching these guys
Sshhh...
That is so cool. I had some Black Swallowtail cats last summer, they didn't sleep like that. I have seen some Gulf Frits do it outdoors, I thought they were dying. LOL
LOL I thought they were sick too, at first. I just brought in some new plants, each has their own again. Seems I'm going to be out looking for some healthy milkweed shortly...most of what is in the yard was badly hurt by the freezes but there should be plenty up and down my drive still that was somewhat protected. I have these on a kitchen counter near the window, they rarely pay attention to me unless I bang the counter, then they startle and settle right back down.
I hope you find enough food for them. I'm kind of jealous, there are no butterflies here at all. I saw one brown moth under my porch light last night, but that is all.
Can't wait for spring! I have lots and lots of Butterflies in the summer.
There's not one plant left, I guess they all froze. I put the big cat on my new A perennis. I was worried because this plant didn't have cats while A currasavica had lots. He seems okay, eating his way through it. I'm glad it has lots of foliage...I can hardly believe how much the big one is eating...off to Home Depot to get at least one more plant!
