'Ocre' colour as the bloom matures ..

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Sorry, I forgot to say 'NEW Ocre' this post.

This is the same 'Ocre' bloom I posted a few days ago.
Colour has changed deep and rich.
Perfuming the whole greenhouse with its fragrance.

Still snow outside, too.
Even more since my last photo. LOL

Great picture Alice. Bet you are really enjoying the blooms in the greenhouse. I may have to look around and try to get one of these. I love the deep color it is showing now.

Wow Alice! It's beautiful. I'll have to find something good to trade with you if you ever get a cutting off of it.

Is this the original wild collected Ocre?
Thanks.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Alice,

would it be possible for you to make a picture from the next flower ( short after it opened ) inside. I really would like to see stigma and anthers really short after opening.
If not possible have a "watch" wether the anthers are free or sticked together.

Thank you

Ludger

Hi Ludger,
Yes, will get you a photo up the bottom tomorrow.
I planned to cross it yesterday, but waiting a day for more choices.
So I will be there!

I checked my source for this plant. They state it is the wild form from Columbia.

I already shared some cuttings. I will have to check if any now.
Spring for sure.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Alice. How pretty this must be for you to see with all the snow outside.

I'm sorry,I thought the other post had said "New Ocre",and I thought I had read that it was a hybrid because the other original Ocre was prone to virus

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

CC,
therefore I asked for a picture from the anthers. I am not really shure that this is the wild Ocre. The calyx dont look like a candida.

The calyx of Ocre has only one opening where the flower come out, so I am sorry. This is not Ocre. There can be Ocre in your hybrid, but the shape is much versicolor.

Dennis, here`s the flower. The leaves in the flower region are serrated, small and thick. The anthers are separated, not tied togehter like in suaveolens. The flower walls are among the thickest in Brugmansia and about 35 cm long.
