I am sooo excited !!!

Seymour, TN(Zone 6b)

Hi everyone !! I was a newbie not long back and you all welcomed me with open arms. Since I joined I've learned to love Dave's and ended up organizing my first co-op. Anyway, when I first came here I watched this board for a while. I had the four little brugs in my garage remember that ? Had to bring them in because it was so cold out there. Well three very generous people offered me cuttings for postage and I jumped on that offer ( of course ) lol. So here I had many many cuttings sitting around my kitcen in various containers, mostly 2 ltr coke bottles cut in half. I watched and watched them, most of the cuttings already had some roots on them, some didn't, but I treated them both the same. So here I am this morning looking at my plants and thinking...these things are dead...I had about 15 with leaves on them and about 15 that looked like sticks. So determined to give them a bit of water anyway I pick the containers up off the floor and was totally amazed ! The coke bottles are see through of course, and so I could see an amazing and thick spiderweb of ROOTS all over the place, in EVERY bottle !!!! How exciting this morning has been for me !! I am so thankful to those wonderful people who offered these to me, and to the rest of you who are so sharing and giving with your advice and knowledge and friendship.
I hope to have something to share someday too !!!

Good for you Cheryl! I like those plastic containers too. Not only can see the roots,... you can also see how dry the soil is. Hope you get lots of pretty blooms this summer.

Cheryl, I'm glad you had such good luck with your cuttings. Just wait until summer. When they bloom it is so wonderful and then you will start taking cuttings for friends. I can just see the lines of coke bottles you will have. Great fun and such a reward when they react the way you expect them to.
