I got a sprout! Wooohooo!
Butterfly x L'amour
Great Sue!! I'm still waiting.
I am still waiting also. There's still hope . . Way to go!
Yes ... there's hope. I got just the one sprout so far. It really hasn't even peeked it's head out of the soil yet.
I have one butterfly x l'amour that is coming up,it looks like another one where the seed head is stuck on,Maybe its too dry in the house
I think that cross will have some wonderful babies
How long ago did you plant them? To everyone
Mine was near New Years.....
CC: Can you spray the seed, or put plastic bag over until it grows the leaf to push the seed head off(day or so)? I have saved lots of them that way. If you do save it, it's mine. You won't need two, will you? ha I know it's a winner!
I planted Jan. 8 and I have 2 Butterfly x L'Amour and 1 Rosamond x L'Amour. I hope the other seeds soon follow.
Congrats Sue. Can't wait to see the flower on this one.
I planted 3 on Dec.8 and this one popped up on the 16th. I waited a few weeks then used a toothpick to dig up the others. 1 had dissapeared, the other was wormy. I planted more on Dec. 29, but nothing popped up yet.

I'm not sure when I planted mine... January anyway. The first batch ... I had three beans but they still haven't sprouted.
I would try pinching the seed head. The seed coat should slide right off, but to be sure you might want to try misting for an hour or so before trying to pinch the seed coat off. Basicly, you just pinch it lightly and pull gently. If the cotyledons don't ease out don't press the issue. You can always simply peel one of the sides while holding the other side as well. In this way, the worst that could happen is that you take out one of the seed leaves versus both leaves. I've lost a few seedlings by doing this, but practice makes perfect. If the seed coat doesn't come off it will surely die though. Still, if you have a sprinkler or a misting system thats your best bet. Run it for a while and then try to remove the seed coat.
I have a question. I've never planted brug seeds before but I have quite a few of them now I could try. how ? I have not got a clue how to do this, seriously. I winter sow alot of my perennials outside, but not the brugs I'm sure.

Thank you Tig that is wonderful information !
Are there seeds out there for exchange or SASE? SmokeyMist indicates that she had many and like to join her in trying to get some up. Experienced hobby gardener with indoor propagator and outdoor cool (minimum 38 degree) greenhouse. Can trade for fuchsia starts of many kinds in the spring.
Fushiafan - I still have some seeds to share. They aren't especially exciting for crosses but you never know. I'd be happy to share some.
