When is it going to end?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I spent an hour in the GH tonight moving the Brugs two feet away from the outer walls. It's 9:10 PM and it's now
-20. It's supposed to go to -30 tonight but the way the temps are dropping I won't be surprised if it even goes lower. I want spring!!! Whaaaa!!! :(

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I sure feel for you. I couldn't imagine having to deal with those extreme temp.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, that sounds horrible. I hope things get better in NH really soon. Might have to give you a call. Do you suppose the phone lines are frozen now? Stay warm Terry. I want spring too, but probably can deal with things easier than you can since I don't have a working greenhouse. Your plants will be gorgeous next year though with the head start they will have. Hang in there!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Think warm pink thoughts Terry. Does the weather show any warming in the near future?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

We got down to -11 this a.m., went all the way up to 15 degrees, supposed to get 3" more of snow on top of the 1" we just got! I'm ready for spring anytime soon, now! I'll hang in there with you.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Liz, It might go into the teens next week. I hope their right. Peoples water pipes are breaking from these sub-zero temps and flooding their homes. A water line broke in VT and drained a whole reservoir before they found the broken pipe.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

snow, how warm is your GH staying?? praying for you that you don't lose power, and that your brugs are safe as you are.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

I spent 2 nights in a small cabin in -40 degrees years ago. We must have burnt 2 cubic yards of wood to keep it warm. I can't imagine trying to keep a greenhouse warm in those kind of conditions.
I hope your Brugs will be okay, and that Phil won't see his shadow.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Snow, I too wish it would warm up. It was -18 this morning. Snowed last night, doors on car frozen shut this morning and their talking another 3-5" of snow. But we did have blue skies today instead of that dog gone grey we have been having. Stay warm!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

tiG, Turned up the furnace to 70 degrees today. I just went out and checked it and it's staying around 50. No problem so far but it's unbelievable in these temps the amount of gas it's using.
Waterloo, It's been sunny here too but the sunnier it is the colder it gets. Almost wish for the clouds so it would warm up. The news said tonight there may be another noreaster coming this weekend.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Terry I sure hope everything goes OK, if you lose anything you know where a bunch of your babies are. That sound dreadful.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I get e-mails for the weather alerts in our county and it seems like I get 4 or 5 daily due cold and wind chill warnings. It's -16 now and predicting a low of -25 tonite. This cold is unbelieveable!! It dipped below zero maybe 3 or 4 times last winter. I think I'd rather have snow than this cold. It's been a hard winter on the wildlife too.

I hope the greenhouse holds it's temps for you Snowhermit. Who would have guessed the winter was gonna be like this!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It was -18 when chuck came home from work,I left an hour later and it was -20,who knows how much further it went down. And I had to stay outside and hook up my set,45 minutes....no fun at all......

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Too cold for me. I'm not sure my coat would even keep me warm at those temps. I hope you never have problems that keeps you outside any longer than that CC.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh we all do,brakes freeze up,latches wont latch, heck ,just trying to warm the tractor up takes forever

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm sure you are very careful. Do you have anyone ride with you during the cold, cold weather? Gosh, I don't know how you do it, even in the warm weather. Guess you could call me a pansy!! I don't mind getting my hands dirty, but I would never be able to be a truck driver. Be safe!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

No,nobody rides with us,LOL,like they would pay 2 of us to do one job?????
We try to run with someone going to the same place though, its nicer to have someone to talk to on the CB

Bid's are Saturday, thats where you bid on your run you want and you have it for 18 months ,unless you get bumped off like I did.I'm actually thinking of going inside the building to work, harder on my body but this weather is getting to me,its been a very bad winter for driving so far......

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hope you get what you want. Weather is hard on us, for sure. Bet working inside will be very hard on you too. Good luck with Saturday.

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

Burrrrr. That's why we moved south, although it's been cold here for here. Twelve last night, and had to put blanket over my tiny sun space and like Tom Burnette, keep the light burning! The Iochroma and Jacobina suffered, but the stock did ok. Well remember those days in CT when the snow was horizontal and we had to cut the ice out of the pond with the chain saw. Just think you guys, mud season follows. I just hated that. Then the pipes burst on the North side of the house and the washing machine froze up.
Ah, those were the days/

Still warm here, haven't even had much light frost. Thank you El Nino.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It hit -28 last night. Late this morning it was still -14. We took a ride up north to the Canadian border and it was warmer up there. Go figure.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm glad you guys are back home and safe. I would hate to even venture out in that cold weather.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Snow - it's almost warm out today! I went out and filled up the birdfeeders with out a coat :o) I hear it might even get above freezing at the end of the week!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It was 40 degrees warmer last nite than the night before....

ready to throw my shorts on!LOL

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

CC what kind of truck do you drive? I have my own truck and move containers in and out of the port of Savannah.
It warmed up real nice here, today was sunny and around 70 for a high. It still gets close to freezing at night.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I have a big ole UPS truck,I haul doubles for them.

I wanna race the truck.......

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

Aha, wiggle wagons, that explains the 45 min hook up! I thought Buster Brown had their trucks governed. Who are you going to race?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

hey CC, is Dale going to be your co-pilot??? I want to see someone race the truck! LOL!!

Dripping Springs, TX

Tell us when--so I can stay off the road!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

yeah, they are governed, most at 67,the old cab-overs just got theres taken off, cause they are junking them.I forgot about it and then ,here I was going down the thruway(no other cars around)and I glanced down and it was going 76...LOL

Surprized it stayed in one piece!!!

And I want Dale Jarrett to be my co-pilot

do you think he'd ride with me?????

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I bet he would in a heartbeat!!!
