She handed me my garden gloves. She was insistant. Her mind was made up. I tried telling her I was too tired to go plant Brug seeds. She just would'nt listen.

She is adorable!
tiG, I bet they would have a super time together. And yes we would have fun right along with them. :)
What an angel!
She's soooo cute!
A real "sweetie". You need all the help you can get!
She is such a cutie . . aren't grandchildren insprirational. You are so lucky to have a little gardening partner and it is so much fun having them by your side.
Terry, Amber is so cute. I can just imagine the fun you have with her and the times that it isn't as much fun too, but that just goes along with being grandparents I guess. I'll bet evening is a very welcome time for you. Thanks for putting the pictures up. I do enjoy seeing others grandchildren and children too.
How adorable, you are a very lucky lady indeed. So that is how it works, you have to wait for grandbabies to have help with the garden. She is a little doll.
What a cutie snow! You must teach her all about brugmansias so you will always have help.
Ahhh, she is so CUTE!!! What a little doll! I can't wait to be a grandma but the kids say they are not ready yet:( I shouldn't rush them I know....but see...grandkids are soooo CUTE!!!
Oh how cute!!!! Those seeds were planted with lots of love,so I hope they turn out to be the best flowers you have!
Thanks all. She is a cutie if I do say so myself. :)
Her 5 yr old brother helped me last year and learned to plant seeds and take cuttings. He also helped dig the holes last summer to put the plants into. His biggest thrill was smelling each flower when it opened. This year Amber will follow me in the garden and learn respect for the plants. I have never had trouble with either of them touching the plants. They were taught from the start that they were poisonous to eat.
Yes Gwist, these will be special seedlings. :)

Hello, Brug fans, new member here.
I joined Dave's Club in search of fellow bruggies.
I started growing brugmansias 2 years ago in California's South Bay area from a handful of branches I snapped off an overgrown tree in the neighborhood. A year ago I moved south to the Los Angeles area, and brought with me a handful of young brugs: yellow, pink and white.
I love these plants so much I have them in the front and backyards, as well as along the shady north side of the house. I've now added single white, peach, and red (Brugmansia Sanguinea). I've propagated so many I plan to offer them to the local nurseries. and at auction on eBay. I thought I would offer some for trade to this group as well. I hope to find other brugs I don't have to iadd to my collection.
Seeds: last year I plucked 4 seed pods. First time I had seen a seed pod. I gave them to a local grower, since I was propagatin by cuttings. This year when I was pruning my many brugs I noted a whole lot of emerging seed pods. I now have a question: How do I know when to harvest these pods? Do I wait until they turn completely brown, or can I harvest them when they are big and plump? I will be offering these seeds for trade.
Thanks,
mainfrog
Oh, yeah: in the picture you will see 2 daturas (Devil's Trumpet). I plan to add daturas to my collection as well.
Welcome to Daves. Hope you have a great time here. My name is Shirley and I've been a member here for about a year and a half. This is my home away from home and some of my best friends are here. I've grow brugs for several years and have about 50 kinds now. Every year I toss some and get some new ones. Let your seed pods mature to the point that the outter shell is soft and you can feel the seeds moving around or at least till the peduncle or stem holding the pod onto the plant is yellow. Different varities will take different times to mature. Remember that the seeds will not be exactly the same as the parent plants. Check out BGI for some interesting information. I'll get back and edit to put in a link for it. Glad to see you here. Enjoy.
