Does anyone have the Kartuz "vulcanica"?

rural, WY(Zone 3a)

The online catalogue says it has large pink flowers and deeper pink stripes. Mine hasn't bloomed, it is just over 30cm tall, it has fairly dark green leaves, but not as dark as a B. vulcanicola. The leaves have hairs shorter than sanguinea, but possibly thicker.
The leaves are unlike my pure sangs, and sang x vulcanicola. I'm not sure why, but it stands alone in my sea of sanguineas.
It is not as picky as the vulcs, from what I hear. But the flower colour and size makes me ask- what is this?
Thanks, Dennis

Dennis they won't grow here in the midwest even under greenhouse conditions..we get too hot too quick in the summer and they just wither away and die! :-)

Hi Dennis, A form of Vulcanicola haveing pastel pink flowers with pink veins and dark violet coloured calyxs is mentioned in the Preissel's book. The book says that this form is quite rare and only two bushes have been found in the vicinity of La Cocha Lake, Columbia.

Lucky you,

Bruno

Bruno, I am hoping it is this, but I think that it isn't a pure vulcanicola. Did you see an email from me?
