Will have a couple of Datura Metel, Ballerina Purple seedlings when they get a little bigger. Also, will have Pink Pampas Grass starts. I'm looking for Beauty Berry, tuberous begonias and fuchisas (aubergine, bonsai and extra large double bloom uprights). I'll also have fuchsia starts in the spring and maybe baby tuberous begonisas. I'm a newbie so will spend some time over the next few weeks trying to find out how to safely ship. Websites?
Have Datura Metel, want Beauty Berry
i dont have anything you are looking for but if anyone has the beauty berry bush starts i am looking for one of them also i like the purple berries thanks

I can get the purple beautyberry later in the year. No leaves right now, so identification would be tricky. There are lots of them in the wild around here.
I also have the Beauty Berry but no leaves at this time of year.
I've got American Beautyberry, "Zhou Zhou Fuschia". No leaves or berries at this time of year, but contact me in the Spring!
Also, I posted a picture in our Database. You may want to check it out.
Looks like lots of folks have Beauty Berry in some form. The one I'm looking for has electric purple berries thru the winter. Does anyone have something like this? Will contact you all in April. Thanks!
FuchsiaFan,
i am looking for that one too lol

These berries do not last through the winter. Either they shrivel and fall off or the birds eat them. They are a brilliant purple/pink color. It's a very beautiful shrub to me.
I think the birds eat them. I know one person who has them to feed birds in winter.
Have any of you located your beauty berry? If not, please go to www.ci.austin.tx.us/preserves/fotobry.htm If this is the correct one they are usually for sale in the spring -fall.
Desert Rose,
Went to the site you suggested and it is the website for the city of Austin, TX. the Beauty Berry picture is absolutely beautiful, but I don't understand how the city sells the plant. ? ? ? "American beauty berry, Callicarpa americana, family Verbenaceae"
FF Sorry that was the fastest place that I knew would have the picture. There are numerous nurseries here in the Austin area that carry native plants. The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center sells the plant twice a year at their native plant sale. If you would like me to look for the beauty berry in the spring just let me know.
Desert Rose,
That's ok. Looks like lots of DGers can help us out and that would be as close to free as it gets. The berries on the website are sure spectacular!
Is it Callcarpa bodinieri that you're looking for?

I have this one - the berries are sort of electric mauve.
Liz,
That looks like the one! We live so close, but I think the border patrol won't let us trade! Be sure and check out Desert Rose's link above for another really spectacular picture. I think they are different varieties.
